That result is a right kick in the nads.
3 points up in the 2nd half, looking comfortable and then bang 15 men behind the ball inviting Kildare onto us.
Defensive tactics don’t win championships.
Offaly should have won that game. Simple.

Re: U20 "22
Great crowd here at the match. Fine evening and all that. Good performance by Offaly in the first half. Goal will be disappointing on the review. We seem to have that bit more class up front with Keith O’Neill to the fore. Strong breeze at our backs in the 2nd half. Really is there to be won. Drive ...

Re: U20 "22
Going to be a tough one next Thursday. Kildare won the corresponding minor championship 3 years ago ans put up big scores. They are well able kick a high amount of points. Throw in a goal or 2 and 2-20 becomes a huge score to try and overcome. Offaly will need goals to win this game and probably 3 o...

Re: Kids dropped from development squad
I think a massively overlooked point here is that those children would have been part of the Edenderry Town U14 soccer panel long before they were called up to an Offaly developmental panel. This was a terrible decision and a PR disaster by all involved. You’d swear they went on the beer. They went ...

Re: Kids dropped from development squad
Rubbish stuff from Declan Kelly. From reading that article the boys missed one training session. One! Presumably they informed Kelly of their expected absence in advance. A once in a lifetime opportunity to play against the biggest soccer team in the country and now dropped off a county panel. Talk ...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
I think it’s a bit of a misconception that Offaly will definitely play Dublin in O’Connor Park if we beat Wexford. Only once since Dublin went on the road for their opening game have they actually travelled to the home venue of the opposing team. 2016 Dublin 2-21 Laois 2-10. Nowlan Park. 17,000 2017...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
Niall McNamee’s championship debut for Offaly came on May 25th 2003 vs Laois in Portlaoise. To the best of my knowledge He started the game even though not named on the original 15. (A rare enough occurrence in those days). The game finished 1-12 apiece with Laois going onto win the replay 2-10 to 0...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
A couple of midweek matches in the Division 1 Hurling League this week. Unfortunately only one was played. Kilcormac / Killoughey (1st team) defeated Seir Kieran 2-17 to 0-17. And Clara were given a walkover by Clodaigh Gaels. Of the 14 games supposed to have been played by now 5 of them ended in wa...

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
Fitness does not equate to pace.
Gearoid McInerney who clearly has no pace (and turns like an articulated lorry but that’s neither here nor there) running away from our entire team is an example of our lack of pace rather than fitness.
One of many areas we fall down in.

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Shinrone put up another whopper of a score when defeating Lusmagh by 2-28 to 0-13 at the weekend in the Division 1 League.
Forwards moving well there. Always capable of producing big scores.
In the other game St Rynagh’s defeated Kilcormac/Killoughey’s 2nd team by 5 points.

Could you explain how it was a silly mistake by Paddy Dunican?SearingDrive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 4:00 pm Silly error at end by goalkeeper, gives Cork a win. Offaly led going into added time. Disappointing end for footballers, after tremendous display.

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
The Divison 1 Hurling League has already become a farce and not even 2 rounds played. This weekend alone Drumcullen have given a walkover to Coolderry, Tullamore have given a walkover to Kilcormac/Killoughey and Clara have given a walkover to Birr. Pathetic stuff from those clubs. In the one game th...

Seir Kieran 2-15 Ballinamere 0-16 in the Division 1 Hurling League tonight.
An expected victory considering both teams respective absences due to senior and U20 inter county panellists.
