Re: Additions to County panels Football and Hurling
Also David Nally is an excellent hurler and a great prospect for the future.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
Lads, I don't think anyone is arguing that Joe McDonagh is not our level. The question is will it do any good for Offaly hurling or will it sink it even further. I'm in agreement with POTH that it will be damaging to hurling in Offaly. But remaining in the Leinster championship, while the current fo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
The round robin structure is s proving to be a disaster for Offaly. There is not enough time between games to recover physically or to mentally get the heads right for the next weekend. That in itself doesn't fully account for the gulf in class last night. Offaly look to be a long way behind and the...

Re: Newspaper Articles
Excellent article in my opinion. It highlights two key issues - the failure of Offaly County Board to make adequate resources available for the preparation of county teams and it's treatment of county managers. Several senior football managers, including Pat Flanagan and Paul O'Kelly, have been trea...

Re: We Are Offaly
I am with you all the way on this bracknaghboy. It is incredible that a player has to come out to refute a story spread in the media by a member of the County Board. There was no need for this individual to go running to every media outlet he could to spread rumours and half truths. What was gained ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread
I agree totally, and 'Super' didn't help matters with his tweet. This should be sorted out internally, if possible, and not blabbed all over the media.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread
First of all I agree with Kingscounty when he says that it may be a blessing that Offaly lost yesterday. That may sound defeatist and negative but anyone who watched Offaly's performance yesterday could only cringe at the prospect of having to face Dublin in the next round. Playing Dublin with a ful...

Totally with you on this one, Lone Shark. It's ridiculous that people are making an issue out of this. Have ye nothing else to be bothered about?

Re: 2018 NFL
Well done to players and management for retaining Division 3 status. There was obviously a lot of hard preparation put in after the Sligo game in order to achieve that performance and result on Sunday. Wallace has said he is open to adding to the panel. I wonder will any of the lads who are travelli...

Re: 2018 NFL
Question. Would Offaly have beaten Sligo yesterday if Pat Flanagan was still manager? Please discuss. I have little doubt that if Pat Flanagan was still in charge we would have beaten Sligo. Remember, we beat them away last year. Yes there were deficiencies last year, particularly in the second hal...

Thanks for sharing that article, LC. Essential reading for anyone concerned about the direction the GAA is taking.

No sign of suckindiesel. It's one thing talking crap on your own forum. It's quite another coming into an opposition forum and talking it.

Re: 2018 NFL
I totally agree SD it was crazy leaving it that late to call off the match. Surely the pitch was unplayable at 8.30 this morning and there was no prospect of any great improvement in the weather. How come the games at Sligo, Iniskeen and Cavan - all less northerly venues - could be postponed with re...

Re: 2018 NFL
Like Jimbob I think there should be more than one Offaly-based selector. Having said that, I am doubtful that they could unearth sufficient talent to make a significant improvement to the squad. The loss of key individuals to injury, retirement and travel abroad seems to have taken the heart out of ...

Re: 2018 NHL
Also, saw this on Twitter. https://t.co/uOtJeGrRQ6 Tweeted by POTH. I wasn’t sure where to put it. Brilliant article by Martin Brehony - a man mocked betimes on this forum. It's ridiculous that there is one standard for Munster teams in the new championship format and a different one for 'Leinster'...
