Fitzhenry

Looks like Damien is due to be in New York this weekend. Don't know much about his replacement and from a scoring perspective we can't be assured of too many good looks at the goal. In any case having the best (my opinion) goalkeeper in Ireland out of action is not a bad thing in a key game.

Can't Resist

I'm in agreement with As Such Ger and those that appear to be in the camp of his comment: '...He got reported for abusing the ref... category 2 offence... one month penalty. Thats the rules of the association, that what he got and that is all this deserves...end of story.' Debating whether the suspe...

Silly me

Thought (justified or not) that we might be howling about the 'additional 4 weeks' Casey would be given. Six months!

Has it been announced what soccer club Casey will be playing for during and after his supension?

Okay then...

Losing the points seemed pretty straight forward. Anyone know when we find out if anything happens to Casey beyond the original suspension? Please God no one finds something like...'any player found guilty of playing while under suspension will be suspended for the 12 months following the origianl s...

Good Point

Of course the crediting would, in most circles, be no more than ass covering for those times when the info was found out to be slightly inaccurate or heaven forbid dated in any way. Research! I sometimes wonder if these people: a) actually read what they are copying and pasting. b) can actually read...

Still Don't Get it

After reading the posts by The Bare Biffo and Treasurer I don't understand the problem. Tom, the suspension should be independent of the sending off and should have no bearing on the infraction. Lone Shark, I don't think we are getting away with anything here. I agree that integrity is key, but it d...

Agree w RBE

Need to come out fast and keep scoring like you can put it in the bank (which we'll be glad we did if scoring differentials come into play at the end). If we are lucky enough to settle early and get the upper hand I hope our boys are encouraged to pour it on relentlessly. God knows there will be no ...

Casey

From the posts from the 'rulebook' it appears that there was never a need for concern at all in this matter unless I am missing something (always possible). It seems to state in black and white what can be done. The only questions left for me are: 1. Did everyone involved know that Casey was up on a...

College Football

College Football has always been the one. It carries the same passion and carnival atmosphere whether there are 100,000+ under the bright lights and cameras or 5,000 out in the hills of Pennsylvania in a 'lower division'. I've experienced both varieties (games with far less than 5,000 as well actual...

Nominations

Ballyman, Thanks for mentioning Johnny Dooley, I'd like to second that. BTW, I think that goal against Wexford was from play, but regardless 1998 ends early without it. Anything past Fitzhenry is noteworthy, but that was dramatic alright! In addiditon: I'd like to nominate Billy Dooley. Always looke...
