Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
In fairness OF, how much will it cost to get it to the desired state to be approved as a ground fit to host county finals and county matches. They have spent how much to date, what is required to finish the job would (i expect), 10% of the initial spend at best. I would think it would be madness if ...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly
Well put Sam......I wish them the very best. But underage is responsibility of all stake holders, not just County board. At underage, clubs, schools face the responsibility of nurturing talent along with some support from the county board. I know what you meant and not meaning to be pedantic or anyt...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling 2014
And we all lived happily ever after........ Get a grip here lads, congratulations on the result and well done to the players. But lets have a sense of reality, here, despite creating numerous goal chances we passed them up and were extremely fortunate against an average side. Last week we had respec...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly
Firstly, on David Kenny. Posssibly the reason he played in the forward line was he would not have the legs to chase an attacker around after the amount of training injury has robbed him of? On the surface of it, good move and fair play to Brian for shaking it up. Also, same failings , from the Sunda...

Re: County Board
Regarding a couple of things: 1) This county has been decimated by unemployment and the recession, 80s and 90s BNM, Banagher Concrete, ESB, Contruction, jobs were there, apprenticships available, less participation in 3rd level. Now-Emmigration, lads moving away to work, harder to get back home to t...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly
Sepp Blatter has Offaly connections and has worked the oracle. 2015 Championship will be played in Derrinlough, and Boora, in windy conditions allowing us the advantage of being used to the dust. He also played a part in getting Europe to ban turf cutting on the smaller bogs in Galway, Clare and aro...
