Should have started this last fall

Totally agree, but as long as they get beyond the soreness and adjust to the workload there should there be any harm to them doing it? Competitors in many sports lift right through competitive seasons.

Good Idea

I really like it. Might breath a little life into those who never thought they'd wear the jersey. Would be interested to see if players would be up for it.

The end is near

I'm usually not a proponent of building up one's opponents as if we could never win - a very common and amusing tradition within the GAA, but all this doom and gloom should roll on right up to championship game time, if even just for fun. As the swarm of interviews approach (and they will come just ...

Limerick

Hopefully we are able to keep our heads out of the clouds and be ready for Limerick. The Division 2 Race looks like this: Division 2 Quarter-Finals (a) Laois v Kerry (b) Derry v Kildare Semi-Finals Wicklow v (a)/(b) Westmeath v (a)/(b) Let's get real. We won't grow playing against these next year.

BNM

"Given that Offaly provide drama, comedy, farce and heroics that few (if any) counties can match, I expect it to be a hugely eventful day!'

Thanks for this (in addition to the writeup). Classic!

We Win!!!

If the RTE website is correct, looks like we pulled off a tight win against a tough team 3-15 to 1-19!

Refs getting roughed up

This stuff is unbelieveable.

Do the refs need an escort off the field?

Free Taking

Usually a lively topic - especially when things are not going well from the placed ball.

Can any eyewitnesses comment on how the Cleary/Bergin combination worked out?

I did not see any outright complaints, but just checking.

Okay

Agree with LS. If we can't beat either of those two we should quietly accept our fate (or the chance thereof).

It would be a nice lift if we could account for them both. Maybe a bit much to ask given our recnt run, buit out of the question? Hardly.

Wexford

Met a few nice Wexfordfolk while watching the 2004 hurling debacle. Cheered loudly in a mostly empty bar, but can't blame them for that. A few years further back I was in the Catskills and encountered 3 Wexford lads, the type being referred to on this thread. What a crew. Can't remember who was play...

Hey POTH

Could I bother you to elaborate on the last sentence of your post: 'Hopefully we won’t have to endure the sight of Offaly hurlers sarcastically applauding opposition scores as happened in Portlaoise in 2004.' Sounds like some sort of points differential situation, but don't want to assume anything. ...

Yes, I remember a bruhaha about this back then. Hoping that their travel plans or something like that are an 'explanation'.
