Re: Something Positive Here
€45,000 that will be wisely used to do things like a presentation night for the 1995 all Ireland winning team so we can get all the legends back together for a good piss up!! I assure u of this, that money is never going to make any difference to the state of hurling in Offaly because we've got too ...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
I can't wait for Sid's review at the end of the year...it's almost impossible to find 1 positive from his time in charge!! I'm sure the hurlers are just looking forward to getting the year over at this stage without getting too many more 20 pt beatings along the way!! I think the players need to hav...

Re: Hurling to return to St Brendan's Park
I think we're going about this debate all wrong...what the county board should look at is what venue would the Offaly hurlers & footballers gain the biggest advantage from playing at... Unquestionably the footballers should stop playing our games in OCP & instead start playing all our games ...

Re: Offaly Senior Team Progress
While it's great that Brian wants to have a discussion about why we're so bad at senior level, it's ultimately a pointless debate to have.... We are at a minimum 5 years behind the top counties in regard to coaching & training methods. Compare the type of footballers Donegal, Mayo, Kerry, Cork, ...

Re: Mother claims GAA ‘bullying’ her child
To me this highlights a lot of what is wrong with society today. Seriously someone needs to sit this lad down & say its under 15 hurling...no one gives a sh!t...get your bag and go to school!! 33 days from school missed is a hell of a lot of education...No one is bullying him...he's just not get...

Re: Offaly county team managements 2014
http://m.rte.ie/sport/touch/gaa/hurling/2014/0117/498501-offaly/ It might just be me...but I hate this sort of statement!! Playing the Offaly way...what way would that be exactly Brian? Passing the ball to each other...supporting the man...Wow, if that's the game plan then we're all set for an all I...

Re: Offaly Vs Kilkenny Leinster Hurling Championship
While I agree with DAF's analysis that there is a lot of positives to be taken from this result...I think the reality is that having got an unbelievable start...getting 2 quick goals we couldn't pull away from Kilkenny & that half time seemed to kill our momentum...In the 2nd half certainly Kilk...

Re: Cheating?
Time to come clean, sorry ballycumber national school for robbing you of an under 12 schools final in 1992, yes the ball was a good foot and a half over the line before I pulled it back out...again!! When the final whistle blew and we'd won by 2 points...well that just made my "save" even ...

Re: O'Byrne Cup 2013
Looking at this starting 15 & the lack of change in this starting 15 from last years panel must surely be the best indication that there is a cronic lack of talent in the county!!

Re: Supporters Club Revival
Getting in to tullamore at 3pm should help the boys beat the crowd in to the bridge house for new years eve celebrations!! although its always trying to get a taxi home at 2am that I found was the most hardship!!

Re: County Football (Potentials from junior and inter clubs)
I think this is clever spin from Coffey...kind of like Paul O'Kelly claiming in 3 years we'd be all ireland champions if he was to be left in charge...despite losing to Laois in Tullamore and then to Roscommon over in Cusack Park!! At the end of the day, there wouldn't be 5 lads playing intermediate...

Re: How can we affect change within the county@
I think the problem that a lot of underage coaches come up against is the fact that everything is results based...our entire ethos has changed from where kids developed skills...to now its purely about winning...kids only want to play for a team that's going to win something & more importantly, ...

Re: Offaly Minors
I So how'd you get started at the goalkeeping yourself? I'm not sure if me being a namesake of former Meath goalkeeper Mickey McQuillan ever got me the number 1 jersey...I know my performances out the field probably made it easier for a manager struggling to get 15 lads together to play me in goals!!

Is that John Ryan from Shannonbridge over them...or did someone get the job by piggy backing in on John's name?!
