Re: Offaly 2022

So back on topic .. I was chatting to a fella from Coolderry yesterday and he reckons Shinrone will beat them!! It’s a great chance for them to get to a county final , but their form in knockout hurling lately has not been good. But I was at the Coolderry vs Seir Kieran match and Coolderry were poor...

Re: Offaly 2022

That’s fair enough. We are gone off subject here. Huge year ahead for Offaly hurling. If we get it right I’d be confident of winning the McDonagh Cup. Be great to get back to the All Ireland series. Playing in Div 1 will stand to us also.

Re: Offaly 2022

Ah come on in fairness do you think Tipp Limerick Kilkenny players for example go on the beer after every game ? I very much doubt it. You are living on Mars if you think they do. Drinking pints won’t win an All Ireland. And don’t say it was like that when we were winning because times have changed....

Re: Offaly 2022

I think anyone with their heads screwed on accepts that someone opting not to join a county Senior panel should NOT lead to a presumption of a drinking habit. JAZEZ! You're probably the type that gets your camera out and goes on the internet every time you see a hurler or footballer in a pub. Commi...

Re: Offaly 2022

Commitment is a big problem. And the drinking culture also. Too many lads fond of a pint and not willing to commit to training 4 or 5 times a week

Re: Offaly 2022

Is there a case to broaden the search to intermediate players? I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the team we have. But I would love to know if any of the Offaly back room team look at intermediate games or is it only senior ??

Offaly 2022

With the club championships almost over , is there any new players who might add something to the Offaly panel for next years McDonagh cup campaign?

Re: Club Hurling championship

Crc Gaels have had some very good teams lately and it’s a set up which clearly works. From what I have heard Crinkill are in serious danger of folding in a few years due to players transferring out, which in my mind is a disgrace to leave your club, especially when it really needs everyone to pull t...

Re: Club Hurling championship

I think Carrig’s biggest problem is no strength in depth. Haven’t seen them hurl this year but from what I heard they had very little on the line to bring in and make a difference. However there is plenty of talk lately of an amalgamation with Crinkill possibly this winter. It’s the obvious thing fo...

Re: Club Hurling championship

New to this forum. Would like to know if anyone has any views on what happened with Ballinamere in the junior B championship this year. Only played 1 game (hammered by Birr) received 2 walkovers which earned them a quarter final spot and then they gave St Rynaghs a walkover in that game. Looks like ...

Re: Club Hurling championship

Somthing very odd with carrig. Won all their games this year , won division 3 league. Then lose to birrs 2nd team in County semi. Have a lot of underage teams coming through as CRC gaels but their refusal to join up with crinkle was a bad decision in my opinion. Lastly, in u21 I cant understand why...
