Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Would shamrocks(rahan and mucklagh) and clodiagh gaels ( killiegh killuirn) not be the same as st rynaghs(cloghan banagher) if that's the case?. how does st rynaghs get two chances to vote if there under the one banner They're not under the same banner though - they're effectively the same as Ferba...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Rynaghs football and Rynaghs hurling are definitely two clubs, so I'm guessing Brosna Gaels are only a combination team, as opposed to a club that affiliates as a separate entity. By my reckoning it's: Football Only Tubber Rynaghs (F) Durrow Ballycumber Doon Erin Rovers Ferbane Shannonbridge Rhode E...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

I dont agree LS that they sat back I think think Banagher went up another level for the last 15 and Birr didnt have enough in reserve to match them, we couldnt win ball around the middle third. Ah there were definitely lots of times in the last quarter when birr had just two or three players inside...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

More than a bit harsh to judge Rynaghs by the standards of Cuala or Ballyhale right now. They set out to be the best team in Offaly this year, they had to do it while missing a couple of very important players in the big games, and they did it. There were stages against Belmont and Birr - particular...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

just thinking of stats and without checking but I think Rynaghs and Belmont returned their lowest scores of the campaign yesterday...goes to show what can happen on any given day.. To be fair, that low scoring was entirely about weather. It was the same for both teams and all that, but the fact tha...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Bitterly disappointed to see Belmont lose out yesterday, I really thought they'd win it coming into the game but in the end, some incredible saves from Conor Clancy made the difference. His penalty save in particular was truly incredible, and it would have been hard to see Rynagh's coming back to wi...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Lone Shark it seems I was right about the committee they will contest positions... Michael Duignan going for chairman which is great Yep, I'm delighted to hear it. When I talked to Dervill Dolan he didn't give any indication that this group planned to run candidates, so I had to take that on faith,...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

We have always wanted change at the top table specially of Tommy Byrnes seat. Some here said it's not good to look for change unless suitable candidates are going to challenge we now have them and ye are backing them cowboys....madness! Where have you seen that these people intend to contest key po...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

But they did have a meeting and they did invite a wide circle of people . Did they though? I'm not trying to be smart or anything, but there doesn't seem to have been any method or process to who was deemed worthy to invite to this meeting, or even what information they're willing to share to the g...

Re: Newspaper Articles and other media bits

That is totally untrue. It is a working group looking out for the best of Offaly GAA. I think they went the best way about it and kept it in the public eye so it cant behind described as something that was done in a manner that wasnt been honest and open. I am sure Stephen Darbys main reason for ge...

Re: Newspaper Articles and other media bits

I'm uneasy with this on a few levels. I have a lot of respect for some of the people named there, and if they presented themselves for election at convention, I would be inclined to support them and want to see them succeed. However regardless of anyone's views of the current management committee, i...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

(1) - Don't misunderstand me - I'm not saying that these Birr lads are poor players, at all. As you say, it's a superb half back line and one that would be at home in any company. Neither am I saying for a minute that Mullins is a weak link, he absolutely isn't. In a county with a disproportionate n...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Just to pick up on your comment Lone Shark on alot of the Birr players coming to the latter stage of there careers. Not taking into account Breeder Mullins as hes a goalie who I might add has been at a different level this year in goals. (Without doubt the best goalie in the county I think alot of ...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

I don't know where to start with all that to be honest. In a nutshell... (1) This isn't "defending OCP" - as I said, the ideal would be a double header in Birr. But sporting fairness would decree that since SBP is a club ground, it's not reasonable to expect another club to play the home club in a k...
