Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
Yes it is a frightening statistic...but with work finaly been done at underage again and more to come, in another couple of years I have no doubt it will change.
Now concentrate on your own club and don't be having sly remarks towards birr

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
Was at the minor final yesterday slightly worried at the standard of hurling but I suppose that's where Offaly is at..Cliodagh gaels are a plysical strong team with 7 or 8 very big hurlers but unfortunately I can't see any of them progressing to be huge players for Offaly in the future as there basi...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
Offalys future Birr gaa are entitled to do what they want with there ground, all areas off the club are been covered at last!! If you haven't noticed we have been granted Walsh cup games for next year, so the CB won't be coming out with a statement of the sort! Offaly hurling needs to be rediscovere...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
You memtioned other teams around the county have came on leaps and bounds...which is great but this is at club level and these clubs have clearly not transfered this to county level cos we are struggling. So it's great that north clubs are doing well but with south clubs struggling Offaly are! Birr h...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
To be honest I'm more interested in hurling coming back to Birr because I think it will benefit Offaly hurling , I am all for having hurlers from all over the county on county panels but since it's gone to ocp I tink offaly hurling as suffered as a result of this. Yes I know it's not the the only re...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
You always back lone shark A lot of people on this website have serious issues with birr, I can understand if it was the old committee but the club has a total new look to it, so why bring up stuff about gate receipts when new trusted business people are doing the gates? I tink it's a cheap dig. Alo...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
It makes perfect sense.
The club has turned things around and are in 3 semi finals so they are not too far away.
Senior champions and minor I predict.
We will be club of the year then.

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
offalys future you spoke to soon. Birr are in the semi final of senior, minor and U14 as we speak and earlier in the year we reached the u 21 semi final also. Yes there was years of no success but the wheel is slowly turning since our club got a total clear out early this year, and there is a new pla...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?
BNM and Lone shark, not for one minute do i think attendances were " HUGE " in Birr towards OCP but i do firmly believe that Offaly hurling has fallen downwards since its been moved to Tullamore. Yes I know its not the only reason we are not competing anymore but its one of the main factor...

Re: New Minor & Senior Hurling Management
Can people stop giving credit to the CB for this appointment. These are the very people who put 3 managers in a row with no experince over our seniors, and have Offaly hurling in the worst state it has ever been. A good appointment and thank god Sheedy and co were picking the manager and not Boland ...

Re: New Minor & Senior Hurling Management
Joe Dooley, Ollie Baker, and Brian Whelehan all had one thing in common when it came to intercounty management, They had no experince of training teams at that level, so to even consider Danny Owens would be complete madness. Look at what happpened to Padjoe Whelehan when he threw his hand at managi...
