Re: What the papers read!
ryot: -wrote I would be fairly sure that the Officers of the County Board did not order the KK lads to snub their club football training &go to County Hurling instead. That is the problem! There seems no direction or help forthcoming from the County Board. No proactive problem solving or dynamis...

Re: What the papers read!
Leadership, they say, comes from the top down and especially so when it is to secure the rights of those that play and promote the 'minority' sports within our community. Sometimes it may seem easier to keep your head below the parapet and hope the wind will blow over but there are occasions when we...

Re: Eugene McGee on Newstalk about Offaly's current crisis
The whole point is to talk about what Eugene Magee said in his interview but we have hijacked the thread and lost focus. @Shambles @BrandName lost @Waste years @20 or so managers in the last 30 years. @Imitate others who have shown the way A Faithful Spring These are a succession of bullets being fi...

Re: Offaly v Longford
Great start to the weekend yesterday. Now to build on that. Its a good draw for both teams as they should both be thinking they can win. Hopefully we have that extra bit we need to complete the task. Good luck to the players, management and everyone else involved. To come out of there victorious wo...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny
Just have to take issue with some of the 'rants' on here about the County Board not supplying 'gear' or providing adequate facilities for winter training it just doesn't fit with the latest images from County training recently posted on twitter, one of which can be found here.

Well said Townman, easy to follow Offaly when we are in an All-Ireland and the likes lets show these lads that we are still behind them even when they are between a rock and a hard place.

Got to hand it to you Toxicity you have done your homework but what would KK have done if Offaly had given Danny and Jimmy the gig?

Re: Accountability
Don't think anyone blames Brian Whelahan. We all understand his predicament having to undertake a managerial role with minimal experience. It's a poor chess player who sacrifices his best pieces too early and that is what is most shameful about his appointment. If his appointment fails we will have ...

Re: Accountability
We are all stakeholders in the future of our young people. This is such an important cultural and social debate! Its just not the physical concept of being able to compete but also the mental well-being that such competing affords us as a group be we players, coaches, administrators or spectators Th...

Yesterdays u21 games would have limited options to a degree and may reason why the likes of Wynne is not listed but great to see Conor Slevin manning the posts.

Re: 2014 O'Byrne Cup
Listened to the game on MR3 and as mentioned above the spirit shown by Offaly to came back when 5 points down is the positive point that any coach would take out of the game. The difference in my humble opinion is how quickly Laois player of the year, Martin Scully, was taken off and replaced once i...
