Re: Leinster Club Hurling
I get the point you are making that there are only 6 teams left so what’s the harm in a replay but I really think that dragging the club championship out for 3 more months needs to stop. In the long term it means clubs have no break as they have to jump straight into 2019 championship next April loc...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
I looked at the replay again and you are right in all 3 cases bracknagh.
Carroll did drive the butt of his hurl into #2 and the keeper did swing a wild left.

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
It was really hard to tell what Carroll or Keaney did in the initial incident to warrant a red and yellow card respectively. Similarly with the 2nd yellow for Keaney. both can judge themselves unlucky to get sent off and probably have a case to appeal. Brady did strike and it was the right call. Kee...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
I have seen a few posts and tweets disagreeing with extra time X2 being played on the day, especially considering that there will be a massive gap after the provincial finals to the AI semi finals. I actually think it is a great move to try to finish games in one day and it sets things up nicely for...

Re: Leinster Club Hurling
Watched the TG4 coverage and Brady was blessed not to get a straight red for the wild pull. Ironically, the first yellow that was dubious actually saved him getting a straight red, as it was an easy option for the ref to reach for a second yellow. Coolderry were sharp with their striking and touch t...

Re: Newspaper Articles
I think it’s a good idea. Most management teams hold some form of trials each season, so why not try to make them as competitive and realistic as possible. 4 games gives everyone a fair chance and gives the management team plenty of scope to see different people and try different scenarios. Holding ...

Re: U21 Hurling
Jesus, I am sorry I pointed out anything about the geographic spread of the clubs, seeing some of the petty BS comments on here. This whole North/South divide is such rubbish. If we are to stand any chance in the future we need to pull together as one. We are way too small a county not to be produci...

Re: U21 Hurling
There's a chance, if they don't allow Galway to build an early lead. Offaly beat Tipperary in a Semple Stadium challenge two weeks ago with a last minute goal, so there is heart and determination there. Ollie Glynn will have a good knowledge of the opposition, and any Aidan Hanrahan coached side wi...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
Galway walk in and will never be relegated from Leinster and it was just accepted from the teams in Leinster, I’m not blaming Galway but would they be welcome in Munster like this and would any of the teams be ok with relegation from the so called holy grail of a championship, me thinks not!! Galwa...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
I have to say that I thought Ger Loughnane made some good points on the Sunday Game about Offaly getting relegated and what our attitude towards it should be. For 2019 the main thing we have lost is the ability to play in the Leinster Championship. There is an argument to make that playing in Leinst...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
It’s a free world and the choice is yours. That’s fine. And I’m not having a go at you here. As for the bigger picture, like, there’s soccer on television every Saturday and Sunday - if you were to go arranging fixtures around soccer on television, nothing would ever be played. And there’s a world ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread
Offaly season will be over very soon. What would be an idea , is to continue training till end of july/mid August. Stopping Inter county training mid summer makes the gap too big when they come back in October. Need to continue gym and hurling sessions to close the gap with other teams. You might d...
