Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly
I take your point LS, but BNM man has also alluded to the fact that there might be a temptation for the lads, sub concious or whatever , to quietly bow out in a game that the media or public will have little interest in. This would point to all the issues that others were castigated here earlier for...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly
"It's not about deliberately losing, but sometimes it's just too hard to keep going t the well and finding the intensity that championship hurling requires, particularly a game like this where Antrim will smell blood in the water. If the panel just want this year to be over, then this is a grea...

Re: Clare looking for an Investigation!
We had a bloody good team, possibly Paul O'Kelly was dismissed too early , no doubt. But if he was so godd, how come he never went on to manage elsewhere, or did he?

Re: Un Cambio Es Bueno
"We need to fix the broken link between the county board and the clubs/people on the ground. At least then reviews or plans should be acted upon and things just might get better". So instead of pointing fingers go and get involved. Think that sums it up, Buckface is not too far off the ma...

Re: Un Cambio Es Bueno
Ah yes , this is the OF that we all missed! Also OF, just to clarify, Club Secretary's dont go to CB meetings, and delegates are part of the problem, without doubt. Keep posting Suckin Diesel, OF, what did he say that merits him being to "mob"? This chap is a fair minded person. And Buck F...

Re: Un Cambio Es Bueno
I am tending to agree with Buckface on this. First of all Jimbob, you were the very person on here not too long ago highlighting the great success of Offaly U16s last year, the great evening in OCP where Offaly U14 & U15 squads received awards for achievements in some of the blitz competitions. ...

Clare looking for an Investigation!
See that one of the hierarchy in the Clare county board looking for a full investigation into the "events" of last Sunday in the match v Cork. I didnt see the full game only the highlights on the Sunday GAme. Davy spoke about Cork getting a few dodgy frees, but I dont think there was anyth...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
How are things shaping up with these lads? Adam Mangan is definitely back in business, what about the other injuries, any hope of either of the 2 lads featuring against Dublin? The Leaving cert might have held up things for a bit but there is a lot of hope around these lads and they hope to give the...

Trying to open said bottle with teeth!
Chips and wine, its nearly as unlikely a combe as hurling in OCP

Re: Round 1 Qualifiers: Offaly v Wicklow
Ken Casey definitely gone, but not sure whether he had walked from the panel first before he picked up suspected cruciate injury with Lomans. Bad and all as it may seem, after a dubious transfer from his home club to across the border, there might not be too much sympathy up around the Hill. Other t...

Re: Un Cambio Es Bueno
Offalys Future, welcome back!
Fair post and along the lines that many would agree with.
But I would think that it is not only the county board, as you say, everyone needs to examine what are they doing themselves.

Re: Round 1 Qualifiers: Offaly v Wicklow
Deedin we are not, its the hang sangidges adout the hang these days, but its gas, ye were always men for gettin above yer station on and off the field! On an aside, Aughrim is a classic day out, could even pack the bucket and spade along with the sangers and hit the beach, and head back to the match...

Re: Strength And Conditioning
Again I would think that a lot of this talk about peak physical condition for the position they are playing in, and the type of gameplan is put forward by lads trying to make themselves seem important. How much different can the game plans be in hurling, and what different attributes are needed? Kil...

Re: Round 1 Qualifiers: Offaly v Wicklow
Bit easier that Derry!
We havnt played Wicklow for a while in the Championship, 97 the last time.
Of course it will be difficult, but if we have worked hard since the Longford game, this must be classed as a winnable game.
Have we a full hand to pick from, anyone know?
