Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
outside manager needed i think.theres plenty of lads out there that could be asked but has to be high profile, someone with a proven track record of county management and silverware.

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011
have to agree with man from ferbane, you cant say that a lad that played one good game all of a sudden he will be captain etc within a year.leave the lad be and let him develop now and see where he is at the end of the season and the next season and then see what level he is at.dont forget everyone w...

Re: Offaly Hurling Panel 2011 - Thanks
great effort, they did more than any of us expected this year even tho they might not have won a game.i feel if we had got an easier qualifier draw than cork it would have brought us on a bit more as in terms of getting our injured players back and another game under their belts.pity big joe brady di...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
backofthenet what do you mean sacrifice the other hurling clubs to grow the game? no one on here said anything of the sort, all some are saying is to develop the game in other areas to the standard that already exists in the strong end of the county.hurling might never be strong in north offaly but w...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
backofthenet so we are just saying for arguement sake that birr holds roughly 5000.so you reckon for the games offaly play in birr this would be near full and that 80% of supporters are in this one area around birr.so can you tell me where this 5000 were when we played dublin in croke park?you use c...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
agree with offalyman08 100%.we are a county who should be united as one, theres hurling teams in edenderry under6,8,10,12,14,16 and the junior A team.gracefield, killeigh, raheens, all have hurling teams, they might not be senior or have county players but their all committed to playing hurling and to ...

Re: offaly hurlers (great effort)
agree with you there townman on offaly, but i think if galway get over dublin they could be the surprise team this year.every other year there always in top 3 or 4 and everyone is hyping them up.but this year people are less optimistic about them and this might just take some pressure off them and th...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
county board should sort this out,no other county team in the country would be refused from training in their home ground.i like the idea of clubs letting the county teams train and use their facilities.if lads had to travel from dublin the edenderry pitch would be ideal to train on to give the lads...

Re: The bigger picture (Hurling and football)
bloggs where is the harm in trying to generate more interest in hurling in the whole county? if the work is done at underage level in the clubs where hurling isnt as strong now then it can only benefit a small county like offaly to have more options in the future when it comes to picking lads to pla...

Re: The bigger picture (Hurling and football)
i agree with backofthenet.the county needs to change its mind set.it shouldnt matter where your from ,what part of offaly,if your good enough you should be given a chance in football or hurling.neither i think should it matter what grade your playing you should be at least given a chance.kilkenny ha...

Re: offaly hurlers (great effort)
as stated before no one is getting carried away we are just proud of the way the lads did on sunday, considering dublin were tipped to win leinster, were going to beat offaly by 20 points and an offaly man got man of the match to!! at least they made a good go at it unlike the fancied footballers who ...
