Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11
Did anyone notice that in the semi finals Edenderry players and Clara players made a habit of kicking the ball over the bar in an attepmt to beat the opposition, this tactic will probably be used next Sunday as well. Did anyone also notice that both teams made a habit of putting 15 players on the p...

Re: Junior A Football
Lets hope the 2 semis on saturday can match that excitment so. My prediction is Clara and Daingean to meet in the final for a replay of the 2007 final

Re: Minor Championship
good enough for st.vincents they were too cocky about this minor championship and thought all they had to do is wait and collect they trophy , being cocky will get you no where  Possibly a bit of an over-exaggeration there, but to a certain extent what you say is true. Some massive ego's floa...

Could be the only title making its way to Rhode this year. I hope they celebrated it well

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11
Nearly 3/1 odds on Edenderry are great odds for a one of match. There must be heavy money on Clara.

Re: Junior A Football
I fancy Daingean to go all the way this year. The other strong contenders are the double Ks. I don't think Clara have enough to win this year and Cappincur are too reliant on one or two players. If the double Ks show some interest in this it will be hard to see them beaten. It will depend how their ...

Match the club to the sponsor
I have been at many a match but yet I can never remember the jersey sponsors. Doesn't say much about their impact then but maybe I'm too busy contemplating the finer aspects of the beautiful game. I am more of a football man so please forgive me any of the westies who are left out. Quote my post and...

Re: All Ireland Hurling Final
Tipp to win by a few. Thats where my money is at. Kilkenny rely too much on Shefflin who has no pace or edge to his game anymore. Still a great free taker but the injuries have taken their toll. Richie Power has been poor all year and they are really relying on Richie Hogan to score a couple of goal...

Re: Minor Championship
Sorry mate you are completely wrong in your belief. If you put a donkey in a field of stallions it don't make him a race horse. Walsh Island, Pullagh, Tubber, Ballycumber- need I go on. These have very small catchements yet are senior. Sure hell even Rhode have have a small pick and they can field 3...

Re: Minor Championship
This topic of a Daingean Parish Team is always on this website. Give it a rest for a while. As was pointed out by the previous posts there is not one member of any of these clubs on the county panel or looks to be good enough to be on the panel. I have seen all 4 teams play this year and I dont thin...

Re: Junior A Football
i wouldnt count ballycommon out of the championship at this early stage fargo my friend.. Managers Liam Dempsey,Peadar, Seamus Darby as well as player manager Donie, are all well experienced with regards to the championship shake up. They have installed a plan of playing poor starting teams for the...

Re: Offaly Club Championships: 4 teams from 6 is too many
I agree with both comments above. We need to revert back to a knock out championship. Too many meaningless games played out in the group stage. We need to have a knockout system with a back door where every team gets one chance to lose up to semi final stage. The Laois model has alot of merit

Re: Junior A Football
Cappincur v Daingean Terrible display by Daingean. Must be one of the lowest points for Daingean football in years. No fight or heart and just laid down to an average Cappincur team. Daingean were actually leading this game about 10 mins in the second half when Cappincur got a goal and the Daingean ...

Re: Junior A Football
Tullamore and Clara are deinitely 2 to watch. Not sure about Clara as they were poor enough in the div 2 league but depends on who they have got back since. I still think if K/K get all their players together they would be in with a great shout of winning.
