Re: .

talk of a leamonaghan parish team.... jeeze that'll do down like a lead balloon!!!! Doon & Pullough are already amalgamated at underage level, and the same with Ballycumber and Tubber. The Brosna Gaels model is no doubt a thorn in the side of those against a parish team in Ballycumber, Doon &...

Re: Clubs in the doldrums

Im not a football man so I can only take the example of Brosna Gaels, clearly a number of clubs joined together, a number of whom have the numbers to sustain their own club team, however they have sacrificed this in order to gain success. It is patently unfair on the other clubs in the county and c...

Re: Hurling Championship

Doon's pitch would certainly be big enough and good enough, though I'd say Pullough or Ballycumber would be a little bit closer to the natural heart of Brosna Gaels really. i think this comment is a bit off the mark, Brosna Gaels grew to an adult team from the original Doon Og set up... and continu...

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010

Brosna Gaels are not a club, although structured internally like any club with regards to the committee, with a chairman, secretary, treasurer, pro etc.

Brosna Gaels is the parish of Leamonaghan with permission players from Tubber.

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010

well said, long John!!! a great win from Brosna Gaels over Clareen, and well deserved.... Brosna Gaels knew it could happen. it seems those predictions of 10 /12 point win for Clareen were well off the mark......!!!! :) & those from Clareen shouting abuse before, during and after the match were ...

[quote="durra1"]A topic close to my heart.. The current Brosna Gaels vintage stem from a lot of effort put in 10 years ago by a teacher out in Doon from one of the hurling counties who had them featuring in u-12 and u14 tournaments where they never featured before. [quote] Durra1, your inf...
