The Wanderer finds another home.

From Hogan Stand: New role for Oakley? Thursday, January 20, 2005 Ger Oakley could figure at centre forward for Offaly in the forthcoming National Hurling League after he was tried in the pivotal position against Toomevara in a challenge match in Templemore on Sunday, January 16. Oakley, who has pla...

Kerry Match

That's all right then. Sure when you're down at the game you can wear your white 1982 jersey and give the modern Carroll Cuisine one to her....

For the still active among you!!

Touches of the foreign game about this, but sure it can't do any harm.. :) For anyone knocking around on this Sunday (16th Jan), there's a five a side soccer blitz in Shinrone being run by the local Macra in aid of the tsunami relief effort. Tis on in the Mill House grounds, which is a pub just on t...

Offaly Championships

I'd be all for amalgamations to be honest - within reason obviously. I've gone into on my "Shark's eye view" article in the columns. Biff, from what you say, it strikes me as one of the easier amalgamations to put in place. If there's no great tension at underage, and the players would be ...

Weekend in Tralee.

Bring it on!! I haven't been at one of these saturday night matches yet - they're meant to be great gas altogether. (Depends, if we get hockeyed it might be less fun!!) I think a weekend odyssey could be a blast. Granted some of us have divided loyalties, being married to Kerry women etc., but sure ...

Re: Daingean

If Daingean, Ballycommon, Kilclonfert and Cappincur were able to "bury the hatchet" and field a combined Senior team, what hypothetical chance do you think they might have? :? Hard to tell, but it I'd definitely be in favour of it. I wouldn't have an iota what kind of relative strength th...

Rankings.

Fair enough so. In terms of how I expect teams to perform next year, with my odds, in my capacity as former bookie. 1 - Rhode Still the main men, with the best panel and the best production line. Could be vulnerable to a hungrier side, but in my view far and away the best. 7/4 2 - Clara Hate praisin...

Mad Mac

I'm as big a fan of McManus as there is outside of his blood relations, but I'm sure even he himself would acknowledge that he had an off day - and as I said, it was only the O'Byrne Cup, so in and of itself that's not a problem. It was more the fact that it has been a good feew games now since we'v...

Hmm

I definitely like what you're thinking thwere with regard to entrance music. However I'd be inclined to take it a step further. Much like the resonance of "Uibh-Fhaile" when the chant gets going, I think the key is to leave opponents feeling uncomfortable rather than bombarded with noise. ...

No pressure at all.

Sure with such a fine role model within the club, and a family tradition and willingness to work at self-improvement, the boots will be filled in no time.

The Shark believes.... :)

The National Anthem.

As with all good ideas, originated in a nightclub.

Much and all as I love Amhrán na bhFiann, I think the time has come for it to be replaced at the start of big matches. I would suggest House of Pain's "Jump around".

You'd be well into it from the start then.

Article

Seeing as the paper was ambiguous, it should be stressed that this was my work. So all Shannonbridge based vitriol should be thrown in my direction.

Bring it on..... 8)

And the preparation looked spot on and all. I'd say it was the cow's fault.

Good idea

Tis a good idea, but I'd fear for the administration of it. You'd end up with the fourth official having to do an awful lot of counting fouls for different people, and a whole load of mistaken identity issues. I actually think that the game will clean up as a result of this. Mr Farrell was a little ...
