Re: Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Competitions
Yeah I think you and me are on the right track. He was Kk minor fullback about 2 years ago, good hurler. Was a good performer for Gowran this year when the reached the semi in intermediate. Is tommys brother Niall?

Re: Offaly team for NUIG walsh cup - 15/01/2011
Yes, but I think the general point people are making is that they don't have much confidence in where Offaly hurling is at present. The last 12 months has seen the minors narrowly beat Westmeath, the u21s loose heavily to Kk, the seniors just about survive in div 1(good performances in 2 champ games...

Re: Offaly team for NUIG walsh cup - 15/01/2011
Townman, you criticise one man for making assumptions about forthcoming matches based on 1 walsh cup game, yet you make the assumption that ye d be streets ahead of us given your performance v galway last year! Double standards! And what do you base these on anyhow? Ye won 2 league games last year, ...

Re: Offaly team for NUIG walsh cup - 15/01/2011
He didn't seem a good choice at the time alright. He had v little experience before this. Great players don't always make greAt managers.. Yeah our structures are decent. We ve Bern luckyin the fact we ve had a few v good outside men involved in both senior and underage in the county.. As for Offaly...

Re: Offaly team for NUIG walsh cup - 15/01/2011
Yeah he's fine. He was knocked out for a few seconds and came too.. As for the Offaly second string thing, well Carlow have been offalys match at underage in the last few years so our younger lads know the can beat ye now or compete well. We ve beaten ye at senior a few year back- ye beat us well in...

Re: Offaly team for NUIG walsh cup - 15/01/2011
Well as a Carlow man, I ve to agree we were the better team! I agree that we looked far sharper than ye in our hurling. I was sitting beside a lad who wouldn't know your lads as I would, and virtually everytime I could predict what side a lad would try strike off of. I thought it wasn't good to see ...

Re: Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Competitions
Think that Walsh lad is from Gowran. It's some looking team! Stephen wynne is also in ul currently. I don't think he has ever made himself available. I agree with the comments on what we expect of players.

Re: Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Competitions
Jimbob, very blunt but true points on the Fitzgibbon. It's a huge competition and as close to professional hurling as we get. The standard has to bring lads along. Why more Lads don't it into it is a wonder. Some of the current Offaly panel I know didn't play for their colleges in it. A pity, but I ...

Minor v kilkenny
i got the result but i heard it wasnt a fair reflection on the match. A few lads missing to injury doesnt help either. Any reports on it?

Re: RTE & Ger Farragher's "wide" from last Sunday
i happened to be looking at it. he called it wide then said something like oh!, then said he do a rerun for the commentary to his sound guy. dont think it over sinister or that. if you look at the webcasts it can happen as do long uncommentated minutes if the play is poor - depending on the commenta...

Re: Leinster Senior Hurling Offaly V Galway
kemo, thanks for the comment.. i love offaly hurling, have followed them since i can rem. have a pic from 81 taken with the cup over in killurin in my relations and have had the pleasure to have worked with about 8/10 of the squad at underage and other levels in offaly. i feel i ve as much right to ...

Re: Leinster Senior Hurling Offaly V Galway
If i was you i'd be less concerned what Offaly do and more concerned what you are going to do with your summer once Laois knock ye out at the weekend. I think you will find Galway were second favourites for the All Ireland, current league champions and had beaten Kilkenny in Nowlan Park only a few s...
