Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

Junior Semi Finals:

Clodiagh Gaels vs. Kinnity
Kilcormac vs. Shinrone
I think these matches are on the same weekend as the senior q-finals.

Re: U21 hurling v Kilkenny, Wednesday June 26th, Tellamore

Just a few points to make about the match: 1. The management are getting a lot of credit on here for the performance. However, I would be of the view that the management were in fact largely to blame for the defeat. I'm basing this on a couple of things - (i)The initial team selection; I'm of the be...

Re: U21 hurling v Laois, Wednesday 5th June, Portlaoise

I can see your point and I agree to a certain extent but surely if a team wins a county championship by 20 odd points it stands to reason that they would have more than 3 of the best 24 hurlers in the county? To say neither Morkan or Sampson are among the 24 best U-21's in the county is an absolute ...

Re: U21 hurling v Laois, Wednesday 5th June, Portlaoise

Did Shinrone not win the U-21 final by around 20 pts? Should they not have more of a presence on the team/panel? Only 2 on the starting XV (3 on panel). All in all the team seems strong enough but I can certainly think of a few areas where it could be improved!

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Championship 2013

According to paddypower.com the odds for the St. Rynaghs v Shinrone game are in fact the other way around with Shinrone favourites at 4/5 and Rynaghs at 11/10. This leaves the unusual situation of having Rynaghs at 9/2 for the Championship outright and Shinrone at 8/1. Anybody care to explain this o...

Re: Hurling to return to St Brendan's Park

Well Townman it seems you've got your wish with the minor game being switched to Birr at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hope to see a big crowd (at least 50+) and an electric atmosphere in St. Brendan's on Saturday or all the fuss won't be worth it. What do we blame if things don't go to plan and we still lose...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

Not exactly Mr. Current Affairs are you Townman? Eoin Ryan has suffered a cruciate ligament injury and is likely to miss the year. Sean Gadiner has gone to Australia for a few weeks but will be back. Brian Leonard had been called in numerous times down through the years and has no interest in going ...

Re: Junior Hurling Championship

Shinrone 1-14 Ballinamere 1-07 This was a decent game which in truth Shinrone should have won easily. They won the toss and decided to play with a strong wind in the first half. They looked like scoring with every attack and were it not for some poor shooting would have been more than 6 points up at...

Re: Hurling Championship

Who played well for Birr, Townman? 3-16 is a good score to put up against Tullamore, as their backs are usually tight. Who got the goals? Was is Dooley scoring mainly for Tullamore? Went to this match last night. It was a tame enough affair really. Tullamore didn't strike me as a team who really be...

Re: Offaly Vs Wexford in the Leinster U21HC

I have to say, the team doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I think we will definitely struggle at midfield. I've watched Kinsella a number of times over the last couple of years and haven't been overly impressed. Kenny didn't play the county final but was named among the subs so I'm just going...

Re: Hurling Championship

Are we having a predictions competition this year...Lone Shark maybe you could organise something :) Anyway, here's my take on the weekend's matched. Friday evening Coolderry v Kilcormac at Birr I think Coolderry will have too much for KK, even though they probably only have a few weeks training don...
