Re: Offaly v Limerick SH Challenge
Was at this game aswell...and I have to agree shambles is not the word. The Club match between Coolderry and St Finbars that was on as a opener was of much higher quality and intensity. I was close enough to hear both managers and I have to say the difference was massive.. Offaly side all you could ...

Re: U21 hurling championship..
Now how can a small rural place like Coolderry field a team on our own, and Birr, Shinrone, Banagher, Kilcormac, Tullamore with vast amounts of youth at their disposal cant or wont??!! I think you're missing the point here. I'm sure Birr, Shinrone, Banagher, Kilcormac & Tullamore could and woul...

Re: U21 hurling championship..
I cannot understand why teams who can field 15 players want to imalgamate...the one great thing about underage hurling especially is that you are generally carrying one or two lads who may not be as good as the rest but try their heart out as much as anyone...they can develop to be some of the best ...

Re: Daithi knows how to solve Offaly Hurling woes.
Since when did a population base turn into supporters, players etc???? And its not a case of going as far as birr and no further, its a case of practicalities. Coolderry, Drumcullen, Kinnitty, Birr, Clareen, Shinrone, Banagher, Lusmagh & Kilcormac...all senior clubs are all mainly focused on hur...

Re: Daithi knows how to solve Offaly Hurling woes.
I think there would be a big increase in attendance if Offaly switched the games back to Birr, without a doubt Birr and its hinterlands are the breeding ground of Offaly hurling, You have Coolderry, Clareen, Shinrone, Kinnitty, Drumcullen, Birr, Kilcormac, Banagher, Lusmagh all within what 10 - 15 m...

Re: Offaly v Wexford - NHL 27/03/2011
A good win and our survival in the division is all but secured. Some good performances, I have been saying for a few years how good Rory Hanniffy is at centre back, It is such a pivotal position I think it might be best that he is left there come the summer. Looking at the team I feel we are a long ...

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach
Umm well its either Labour or Sinn Fein id guess, neither is exactly squeaky clean! Everyone knows that lowry is corrupt...well im afraid even if that were true it still isnt good enough, Media Assasinations have happened for the last few hundred years, Charles Stewart Parnell comes to mind. If ther...

NO he hasnt. A tribunal is not the same as a criminal trial, In a criminal trial the burden of proof is on the...

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach
Im always about, I generally post about sport so you wont see me on the political forums much. I didnt actually get to vote in the last general election as I was working in Dublin that week and didnt get home in time. However I dont get your point. If you actually listened to quite a few political c...

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach
I'm voting for Michael Lowry he says? Lets get real he says? Do you expect to be taken seriously or treated with any respect after admitting that you will vote for that gombeen bag of sh*t Lowry? What is it with Tipp people - they seem to portray plenty of intelligence on the hurling field but appe...

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach
God looking through this thread youd think we were in christchurch. Now before I start I think il explain where Im coming from. I have voted twice in my life, Once for the PD's Tom Parlon & Once for FG's Olwyn Enright. I am not a member of any political party and due to our area being changed to...

Re: Tone of debate declining?
There have been some people on criticising players on county teams, Ive done it myself, but I always try to keep it objectively and based on performances rather than bias. I think if you took that away what would we talk about?? I also understand that some players get unduly criticised when they are...

Re: offaly vs galway
As usual on this site we have a mixture of over reaction, good analysis and some people being over defensive. If some one wants to criticize a certain player fair enough. 1 person criticized Paul Bermingham and 5 people defended him, a debut where you get by double figures is a disaster no matter wh...

Re: DRUMCULLEN THROUGH TO LEINSTER FINAL
It seems like Drumcullen were well beaten by all accounts. If what townman says is true, in fairness 2 kilkenny minors could definately be a handful for most intermediate clubs. As I said earlier in the thread I think Drumcullen are favourites to go down. Nicky Lawlor is a fine hurler but at centre ...
