Re: Offaly vs Wexford - Leinster Championship 30/05/2009

Eddie Beavns and Dillen hayden have just been called in,but Derek Morkan has been on the panell since last year,a young player perhaps, but may be Joe Dooley should give the young players like this a chance,as this young man proved he knows where the goal post is in a recent championship game agains...

Re: Offaly vs Wexford - Leinster Championship 30/05/2009

Have to agree with you lone shark .In the last round of club matches for example coughlan was way above the classest forward on display that sunday ,at least you`ll get something out of him in a game ,playing him for half an hour in a challagne game at midflield not going to do much for you .But th...

Re: Offaly vs. Wexford match reaction

Only getting to post a cúpla focal now. In short it was a tale of two puckouts and a full back. Offaly’s half forward line won hardly any of their own puckouts. In addition, that line played too far up the field, on the opposition ‘45’ when they should have been nearer the ‘65’. This left it too ea...

Re: Pat Delaney's article in last Sunday's Programme

Jesus ive just pissed myself laughing at that shit!! Its the most pathetic, badly written incomprehensible shit ive ever read in my life. Ive never know there was such a bitterness from laois people, i think perhaps it is mainly football based?? The points he makes are sneaky digs, they have no basi...

Re: SHC round 2, 17/05/09

I decided to put a little bit of thought into this. A quick review of the referees for the two rounds of the SHC revealed that eleven different referees did the twelve matches played. Carthage Buckley did two matches while Brian Gavin, Tony Carroll, Noel Flynn, Padraig Freeman, Declan Cooke, Paddy ...

Re: SHC round 2, 17/05/09

Incidentally, how do you find the abuse of referees at junior soccer compared to what you see at club hurling? I did actually, i ref soccer matches during the winter and i considered taking up gaa, but i still play hurling & soccer with a little bit of golf thrown in so I really didnt have the ...

Re: SHC round 2, 17/05/09

Any report from the intermediate chapionship at the w/e?? Well last weekend, Brosna Gaels beat Coolderry by 3 points in Killurin. Brosna Gaels were the better team on the day and deserved the win, Coolderry played bad, some shocking decisions on the sideline didnt help. On a side note the referee w...

Re: SHC round 2, 17/05/09

On the coolderry birr game, Brian Kelly will be out, I would expect Paul Hudson to fill in, he spent all last year in that position so we arent losing a lot there. Brendan OMeara will definately be out aswell, likely for another few weeks Barry Teehan will play, has been training for the last week ...

Re: Coolderry 6-24 Lusmagh 1-10

The scoreline tells the story really- this was a massacre. Coolderry were in complete control and led 3-12 to 0-7 at half time. Each of their six forwards scored at least three times from play. Michael Ryan had two goals scored before half time. Ray Murray played in goal, not Shane O'Connor. Senior...

Re: Offaly SHC odds??

I dont have odds but its hard to see past the four semi finalists from last year, Birr, Coolderry, Kilcormac and Kinnity. Realisticly i think its between coolderry and birr again but Kinnity and Kilcormac are tricky teams to play against.

Re: Something for club committees to think about.

Is there an argument that says you don't want these type of lads in and around your club in the first place? I mean weak willed fella's with no commitment aren't going to win you anything or even improve the club. (I'm obviously talking about lads who are slaves to drink or to the women here, not l...
