Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010
POTH, Shane O'Connor lined out for the Coolderry Intermediates in goals on saturday, played well, but he wanted to give outfield a go this year hence Stephen Corcoran getting the nod thursday night. On Joe Brady at centre back, he done really well there on thursday night, but his speed remains a pro...

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010
Joe Brady had a field day at centre back, tidy, great under the dropping ball, good covering the wings. Anything that dropped near his area he won. Kevin Brady had a good first half tracking back and generally covering the back line, missed some good opportunitys though, his accuracy needs to improv...

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010
I was at the Tullamore Coolderry match last night. There was some good hurling in the game but the intensity was only in it near the finish. The teams started tit for tat with Coolderry gaining the lead only for Tullamore to peg them back again, But Coolderry gradually eeked out a 6 pt advantage as ...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
Another great game of hurling, Coolderry again were bad tacticly on the sideline. Clareen Og started their half forward line in midfield, which opened up huge gaps in the Coolderry defence whilst crowding out the Coolderry forwards, they were 1-8 to 2pts ahead after twenty minutes. Clareen then made...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
good game on a great saturday evening, pitch was in good nick aswell. Coolderry seemed to be the better team right up to about 50 minutes where clareen really started to come into the game, tom carroll scored some great points. Some bad wides from free's by both sides in the second half. Kevin Conno...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
Its a shame ye dont have numbers coming through, i remember winning a minor final against ballinamere a few years ago, discipline seriously cost ye that day! It would appear Ballinamere has taken a big step back since then, they really seemed to be coming on well back then some nice hurlers and were...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
Well Coolderry would normally be a hurling A Club, they were minor B three years ago, won the competition, the following year they won the minor A, Who was in the minor A final 3 years ago? There is an awful lot of developement goes on between minor and under 21, you inevitably lose a lot of players...

Re: No more U12 Championship
This is an initiative that is being pushed in all other sports in ireland, soccer and rugby in particular. I agree with it up to a certain point, but the "everybody wins" can be taken a little too far. I understand that participation, skill developement etc should be the focus for players ...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
I was at the match ballinamere man, its not really fair to say that St Malachys didnt have bottle they did, they just really didnt have the hurlers. One of their corner forwards was on top, scored 3 - 4 points i think, and they had a wing forward who was ok from free's probably scored 7 - 8 points f...

Re: Offaly Under 21 Hurling Championship
Great victory for Coolderry over St Malachys sunday in Lusmagh, good crowd at it, Coolderry were lucky with one or two of the goals and St Malachys really gave it a go in the second half clawing it back to just one point after being 8 points down at one stage. Coolderry rallied after this and struck...

Re: Diarmuid Horan off the panel
OK Let me clarify exactly what i meant by 100% commitment. I play hurling myself as it happens at senior level, i do run around in the muck manys a winter and i know the ridiculous commitment it takes at club level and i know county level is step up again. Over the last number of years, ive put off ...

Re: who will be offaly senior hurling winner's 2010
I think this year could be one of the more competitive championships in the last decade. Birr are always going to be a threat with the experience they have. Im not sure if some of the players are just a bit too long in the tooth. Brian Whelan legend that he is just doesnt have the legs anymore. Gary...

Re: Diarmuid Horan off the panel
hes not offaly's best hurler in fairness lads...but he would definately be in the top 15.
He chose three months traveling last year over county hurling so id say his commitment to the cause might be less than 100%

Re: Offaly vs. Limerick NHL 28/03/2010
he has hurled very little in the last few years, seen him come on for shinrone last year in one or two games, done ok but not up to county standard at the moment. I think if he got back up to speed he would be on the verge of the team certainly...either midfield or wing forward as he is well able to...
