Re: What I would do
You have to build from the back. We started the game with 5 defenders with no pace. We played poor passes which cost us scores, we kicked bad wides from frees. For the qualifiers we would need to bring in 2 new defenders, Scott and Shane Sullivan would go from the team. Move Kiely to full back, hope...

Re: Offaly vs Louth NFL Round 7 11/4/2010
"Sullivan has to be in that back line in Portlaoise on 23rd May if Offaly are to have any chance." Why? He has been poor for Offaly for a number of years now, and he was woeful over the league. In fact things are so bad that Anton was our best defender until he went off injured. We have no...

Re: Offaly vs Louth NFL Round 7 11/4/2010
Vital game this in terms of getting a little confidence back. We blew our chance in Cavan, and Cribben was right, we seem to lose our nerve when we are doing the right things during games. In Cavan we came back from poor spells where we trailed by 5 and 4 points to draw level, but could not get ahea...

Re: worst pitch in offaly
Jayz, Moystown as one of the worst? Birr used it to sharpen their hurling after Xmas in the glory days before the club semis. And Mountbolus?
Both of these are fine pitches, especially Moystown, surely a wind up? I have played their a few times and tis one of the best in the county.

Re: ballinamere
Ballinamere have always been there or thereabouts, thats their problem, too good for junior and not good enough for Senior. Who is hard done by in not making the county panel?

Re: Offaly V Antrim NFL 21/03/2010
Dont be too hasty in writing them off, they have been close enough over the last couple of games against Meath & Kildare. It looks like they will go down, but at least they have a Leinster u21 final to look forward to and are in transition.

Re: offaly goalkeeper
I have seen very little so far of the team yet. But on Sunday he found his men as well as he could with the kick outs. Strangely enough though he did not come off his line for the flick on that led to the penalty. If he has been 5 to 10 yards off his line he would have easily made it to the flick on...

Re: Offaly V Antrim
I think they should be fairly sure that they want to win each game, and thus ensuring Offaly are in the mix for promotion! We should be good enough to get out of this division, and if you had said after last years campaign that we would beat Roscommon and Fermanagh one would have thought we would fin...

Offaly V Antrim NFL 21/03/2010
Vital match again lads. St Galls contingent unlikely to be back for this one? Hopefully! They gave a great performance yesterday and really mixed up the game with some great passing moves and kicking into space for the forwards. There are some fine players on that team to come back in for Antrim. Fo...

A fair good call PLain! I called Portumna myself on the basis that their forwards would have too much for Ballyhales backs.

Re: Offaly v Dublin - NHL Division 1 - 14/03/2010
On this game, we had a good win. Any win we get is a good win these days. Strangely enough there is lots of room for improvement by several individuals. Dublin looked like they were going to go on and hockey us early in the second half as they had good movement and were winning all the dirty ball. O...
