Re: County senior hurling championship
I suppose Leinsterman I meant to say that Birr have nothing new to offer, (Mullins, Cleary, Rory, Sean Ryan aside). Even Verney, cant see how he is picked for the county. Dylan Hayden as usual went missing when the heat was turned up and hit a couple of brutal wides at vital stages. I am shocked at ...

Re: County senior hurling championship
64 and Kemo Sabe, Ye are conspicuous by yer absence since last year, (glad to see ye are back with chips on shoulders intact!) Enough of this anti town nonsense, on all form since the Leinster final last year, ye had shown nothing so Birr were again rightly seen as favourites. First of all well done...

Re: Name the best scores ??
Most important, Seamus Darby's Goal, Johnny Dooley, 94, and 98 v Wexford.
Best quality hurling score, Billy Dooley v Wexford 94 Leinster final from John Troy's magic flick
Football, hard to call but I tink McManus goal v Laois in Portlaoise in drawn game, 2003?? is my most memorable.

Re: County senior football championship
Biffoabroad,The KK Lads were called onto the football panel and decined. Mahon might change his mind for 2011 as he got nowhere near the hurling team and ended up going to the states. So its a case of the players not being interested as opposed to the management. Gorman would not offer anything at e...

Re: Páidí Ó Sé - 28 years of bitterness and delusion
Offaly 82 team have been too busy patting themselves on the back to socialise with Kerry!!! In fairness, what did he say out of the way? That Offaly were not emphatic winners? Sure thats true, we dont care, 1 point was great. The fact that he is bitter makes him a bad loser, but what successful team...

Cooney is well past it alright. Spitting in faces? Clonbullogue would not normally need an invitation like that, presume there were slaps thrown?

Re: County senior football championship
Ward shows up well at club level, and has way more ability than some of the forwards we have. However he is never available for the winter slog, could have landed us in Div 4 football, (crazy sending off v Limerick 2 yrs ago), is injury prone, and does not have the work ethic required. At club level...

Re: Latter Stages of Junior A
"Hard2Watch", you should change that to "hard2understand"!!! So biting a player is ok then? You were on thin ground trying to defend Greene in the first instance. He is a winner? So he gets himself sent off and ruled out of the rest of the championship. Dont get me wrong, Greene ...

Re: Latter Stages of Junior A
If Greene concentrated on football a little more he would serve Daingean a lot better. I have seen him in action plenty of times, with him biting a chap once being his lowest act! Yes! Biting! So to say he has been a loyal servant? He plays on the edge and was caught and deserves his punishment. But...

Re: Cribbin set to stay on
Jayz True Gael, dont get carried away there. Offaly look like we are on the road back to being some way competitive. However hurlers non show against Tipp, plus the fact that we only beat Clare and Waterford are facts. But the performance against Down was encouraging, but did they take us a little f...

Re: Latter Stages of Junior A
Has to be Daingeans at this stage. They will be hell bent on beating Clonmore after the last day and that match could be well worth a visit. You know that Tullamore will be very competitive in the knock out stages, but DAingean should have the quality and desire to pull through in the final. Also we...

See B Gavin down to referee 2 games at the same time at 2 different venues! Amazing what intercounty standard refs can do!

Re: Latter Stages of Junior A
Darby is a scandal of a ref. No rapport with players, no knowledge of the game, and makes it up as he goes along. The one thing positive I can say about him is that he does bring his own umpires to championship games, however that may be for security reasons more so given what happened against Bally...
