Nigel Dunne did play and top-scored but was obviously not fit. Not many excuses though - Wicklow were clearly better on the day. It must have been very disappointing for all concerned - after training since October. Hopefully they'll find some form in the next stage. Anybody know the draw for the Lo...

Carlow beating Longford and Leitrim beating Roscommon. I don't think many people would have predicted that Double Result! Am I right in saying there is a possible (though unlikely) scenario by which Offaly could sneak into Division 2. Let's say (Big If) Leitrim don't hammer London by a huge margin a...

Paul McConway was majestic at Centre Half Back against Meath in the Under-21 Leinster Semi Final. He showed a great ability to sweep behind his wing backs which is a great attribute for a Centre Back. If the ball came down the middle he was always in position at No. 6 to bar the way. Then when we wo...

I couldn't agree more that the sliothar travels too far in today's hurling. I think the game would be vastly improved it it couldn't be pucked farther than midfield from either goal. I've been very disillusioned over the last 5 years or so by players taking shots from all angles way out the field on...

Excellent analysis above!! My first additional comment is that we could be on full points if we had specialist freetakers taking the short and long frees. My own suggestion would be Ken Casey who is a fine free taker. More established options would be Tommo Deehan (short) and Mac (Long). In most gam...

Encouraging!
Cork 1-21 Offaly 1-14 I don't know if the scoreline reflects it but Offaly gave an encouraging display against Cork. Shane O'Connor Great length in puckouts, pretty sound overall Conor Hernon - Sticky as hell and never gave up. Paul Cleary - Gave the Rock nothing. Michael Verney -The 2 Offaly Corner...
