Re: Leinster VS SH Final
Well done to Banagher College today, defeating Hazelwood from Limerick in the All Ireland Voc. semi final. They will now face a very strong Causeway college who defeated Athenry in the other semi. The final will be in Thurles in two weeks time. Both teams will know each other as they met in last yea...

Re: Leagues
As far as I know the kids are free in anyway under 14. It's publicising this is what is important.

In the opening quarter Banagher looked the stronger with Rathdowney relying on frees to stay in touch. However two very dubious yellow cards were given to Joey O'Connor ...

Re: Oakley throws down the gauntlet
Aye, and Ger's 44 championship appearances make him the fourth most 'capped' Offaly hurler of all time. Only Brian Whelahan (56), Joe Dooley (51) and Joachim Kelly (46) have made more championship appearances for the Faithful. We're lucky to have Oakley as he would go through walls for the Offaly c...

Re: Walsh Cup
The only reason Nall Hayes is playing for Galway is that he is suspended for the AI semi final having been sent off in the county final, thus he needs the match practice

Re: Walsh Cup
From what I can make of it maybe 7 of yesterdays team have yet to play championship for offaly, and even though Kilkenny were much weakened it is encouraging. It is only right that fringe or new players be given a chance to impress, especially as some of the so called established players were able t...

Re: Na Fianna Senior hurling
That would then make them a divisional team in effect. It would be a major challenge to fixture makers in the current formats, but as you say it would give a boost to hurling in north offaly

Re: Fixtures Pile Up......in January
LS, 18 months ago the clubs in Offaly were given the following choices as what to do with E250,000 that was coming the county boards way from the opening up of Croke Park 1) Put it towards the development and running of OCP 2) Clubs could propose some projects they had in the pipeline and the top t...

Re: Na Fianna Senior hurling
They would probably have to all play for just one club, like what happens in Brosna Gaels, unless they are looking for permission to enter a divisional team in the senior championship. They would possibly be brought in at Intermediate level as they already have teams at that grade.

Re: Walsh Cup
Thanks for the info POTH. Should deal with DIT fairly comfortably, setting us up against the cats which is good. I firmly believe that the more often you get to play the best the better it is for you. It may only be Walsh cup but you can be sure that whoever Cody picks will be trying his best as the...
