Re: How to treat a match like Kerry

I'd pick the strongest 15 players I had at my disposal and attempt to humiliate Kerry by as much as possible. I'd experiment by sending the lads out to go for goals only. Set a target of 10 goals, maybe 5 per half and then hit over a few points at the end. I dont care what the opposition is like the...

Re: League Football Round Up

KK gave Ballyfore a walkover in a religation game last year. Crazy behaviour. Hard to believe they were senior a couple of years ago.

Re: League Football Round Up

Well Silken some good points made there. On the issue of Bracknagh I wont go into too much detail but the club is in serious trouble if half of what I heard in relation to lads not playing is true. If it is the case then a rapid fall to junior is on the cards this year.

Re: Niall McNamee running for election?

Not that I'm looking to pick a geographically based fight or anything, but in the last local election the Edenderry ward cast 57% of their votes towards government parties, while this was even slightly increased in the 2007 general election. Surely there would be a case for saying that with that in...

Re: Niall McNamee running for election?

Fianna Fail are going to take a pasting in Edenderry and rightly so. What other part of the world would this crap take place. The leader of the country is from Offaly (Remamber Cowen has been a senior member of government for many years now) and the east of the county is a mess. No jobs, no link roa...

Re: Cribben gets the job

Our chances of success this year rest 20% with Cribben and 80% with the players. When it gets down to the business end of things it'll be up to the boys themselves to run until they can't run anymore and to stick their neck in to contest for a dirty ball they have little chance of winning. We should...

Re: Trouble brewing in Offaly?

Nobody will have any sympathy for us. We have always been seen as a proud county who never gave up and fought to the end. Now we willl be seen as a bunch of whinging good for nothings that want to blame everything and anyone for our dire displays. I hated every minute of Pat Roes spell as manager ho...

Re: WHAT GOOD LADS HAVE LEFT OFFALY?

Call me insane if you wish but would there be any chance of ever getting Tommy Lyons again. I'm serious by the way. We are drifting badly at the moment its hard to see stability is going to come from.

Re: Hoganstand - Trouble brewing in Offaly?

RTE news at 6 said that Connor was meeting with players this evening to air out any discontent that exists in the camp. I dont like this at all. It has Cork written all over it. If you dont want to play for whatever reason then walk away and let another man in. I'm not in favour of these group walko...

Carlow 3-12 Offaly 1-13 NHL 2005

Remember this shocker in Carlow 4 years ago. Johnny Nevin was outstanding that day for Carlow and I remember actually being pleased for them as they went crazy like they had won the All-Ireland when the full time whistle went. It was a strong enough Offaly side as well!! This proved to be a disaster...

Re: Job Application: Managerial position available

In fairness, we are fairly good at predicting what is likely to happen. Nobody on this board thought that the team that lined out against Roscommon would work and it didn't. Theres something wrong when a number of posters like us can see it coming but the manager cannot. I often wonder how many play...
