Re: Rhode V Kilmacud

Just to add my best wishes to the village on Saturday. They are a great club, and play football the right way. I'd love to see Niall McNamee getting a Leinster Club medal, it would do his confidence a world of good. I would add to that, Roy Malone, Alan McNamee and Pascal Kellaghan, great servants ...

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud

Horse, come down off your 'Seat of King's' for a minute there. I voiced genuine concerns there about a number of weak players on the Rhode team. Pride in the jersey may be enough to carry them over the line on Sunday, but there are inherent weaknesses in the team- maybe you cant see it. Blind faith...

OY Senior Trials: Regional Comp???

I know this idea was beat to death awhile back here, but is there any support for a regional competition or even a once off blitz day? Dublin did it recently with the close season upon them they held a one day trial blitz and split the county up in different areas. Interestingly Ciaran Whelan appear...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009

If Niall wasn't on the team, someone else would become the main target man and get the bulk of the scores - Pachal Kellaghan, Roy Malone etc. They mightn't score as prolifically, but Rhode wouldn't be stuck for scores. Not sure how many games Roy Malone got more than say 2 points with rhode- would ...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009

The present Rhode team would win Offaly without Niall because they are so committed to the cause and in Tom Coffey they have an outstanding manager, he has them so well drilled and he knows the opposition so well. I have to say, there has been some statements on this website over the years, but tha...

Re: The Offaly 1988 All-Ireland U-21 Winning Team

For Coolestown : Your abiding memory of Barney Flynn is entirely different from mine. I recall his goal in the Leinster Club final of 1986 (1986/87 Leinster Final- Newbridge, December 6,1986. Ferbane (Offaly) 3-5 Portlaoise (Laois) 1-10) that played a huge role in Ferbane’s victory that year and hi...

Re: Taoiseach, President and Ireland's Sexiest Man?

If the girlfriend did enter him in it- is she likely mow to feel threatened with his new found fame? :D

Good solid footballer by the way. Worth a run in the O'Bryne Cup me thinks.

Re: New Jerseys Please - A call to all Fans

[quote="Over The Black Spot" One other little thing, I'm sure how happy they'd be in Carrig & Riverstown with signs relating to Offaly GAA. After all, this is the same C & R where Offaly played Down in a Walsh Cup game and one of the adult players of the club turned up for stewardi...
