Re: Interim Management Team for Offaly Senior Football Panel

It will be interesting to see if the same 30 players are retained as part of the panel.

Re: Job Application: Managerial position available

Well I will blindly pick people from my club and/or area if that's any good to you? Apparently that's a trait common in our area.... .... or someone like Brendan Lowry who with brief managerial expierence would have sufficient support from the west Offaly pocket who might vote en masse with each ot...

Re: Job Application: Managerial position available

You will find that no one will want the job; the county board wont want to look foolish in the interim and they will appoint a temporary manager just like Roscommon did last year. What will happen is that a 'former great', who a) has no allegiance to Richie Connor or b) is that ignornant it wont mat...

Re: U-21 Leinster Championship

You might start by looking at the underage structures in the county over the past ten years.

If you examine carefully enough you will see where the problem lies. And dont be misguided by a couple of Leinster Final appearances

Re: Richie Steps Down

Havent much to say on the matter, as the latest fiasco is just indictive of the GAA in Offaly in general. We had a successful spell at football 1971-82 and Hurling 1981-98 and most GAA people in the county are happy to rest on those laurels and assume that we are at the upper echelons of the GAA fra...

Re: Carroll Meats

POTH, Yes you are indeed correct re: Dublin they wore Kaliber against Offaly in LSH semi, how we lost that game is beyond me. Kerry wore 'Kerry Group' for the all ireland semi against Down in August 1991- I just wonder had they something before this. ' 'Maddens Milk'- thats a good one Think Leitrim ...

(I realise this may have been briefly discussed when there was much furore over the new jersey, but thought I would raise it again) Just after been watching TV3 sports news there and they were mentioning that Wexford Cremeary were pulling out of their sponsorship deal with Wexford Senior hurlers and...

So thats your assessment. An hours football; a Leinster final boils down to ''bad refereeing and umpiring''

Re: Rhode V Kilmacud

I think there is a certain amount of opportunism from the journalist (Ewan McKenna) here. Reporting verbatim what McNamee's reaction was and exact words is bad form. Most player interviews will have certain content that's off the record, or unprintable. There is usually a certain understanding that...
