Re: Division 3 survival topic

The only games I've attended so far this year were the football in Newry last weekend and the hurling in Wexford yesterday. In the interests of Offaly football I should probably steer clear of O'Connor Park on Easter Sunday

Re: Wexford v Offaly, NHL, 5/4/09

Here's my first match report for this board, so forgive me if it's a little haphazard.

I went down to do some reconnaissance for the 30th of May. The Faithful supporters were thin on the ground, though not unexpected for such a long trip.

We had little to shout about apart from in the first 10 ...

Offaly 2-10, Galway 1-17

So much for baytin' the Tribesmen back across the Shannon. Was anyone at the match? Were we good, bad or indifferent? Any new players tried out or established lads tried in unusual positions?

Sweet Jaysus!

Only in Offaly would you find a person called Squart Mahon.
Aren't we a great little county all the same?

Re: u21 result

The key difference over the last number of years has been that Kilkenny players at all levels get the ball into the hand at the first attempt. Whether fielding it or rising it off the ground. Offaly players just aren't as good at this skill which is now the most important aspect of hurling.

How's she cuttin', lads? Long time reader, first time poster.

As a Shamrocks native, I am suitably intrigued by this thread. Could someone PM me with what was said please? Sounds unpleasant judging by the universal condemnation...
