Re: The Betting Thread
LS, I think that you have been reading my mind! The 3 bets that stood out to me were ourselves, Tipp and the cats. I am going to play it safe and leave the cats out of it and just do ourselves on the handicap with a Tipp straight win and maybe a small bit on Tipp against the handicap. By the way, wh...

Re: The Betting Thread
I agree about Kilkenny but I always stay away from backing against Clare in Ennis, even if it is against the cats. Burnt too many times before! I still reckon that we are the stand out bet of the weekend so will just be sticking with that one. Anyone got any ideas for a good football bet? Am I mad i...

Re: The Betting Thread
Offaly at 5/6 -8 points on the handicap with Paddy Power.
Seems like a cracking bet to me. 8 points is probably around the mark but if we turn up hungry and really go for them then it will go in to double figures. How's that for confidence!

Re: Offaly V Down Hurling
Would anyone contemplate it? I certainly wouldn't go so far as letting an all uibhfhaili.com team take the field, but I'd be damn sure giving a few of the main lads a rest that day. Heh, some of us might actually do ok! Seriously though, if the situation and the chance to do something in the last g...

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.
As has been said Alan MacNamee has not being doing it in the county jersey for quite a while now and is occupying a place that surely someone with perhaps not as much talent but willing to give his all and leave everything on the pitch would give their left arm for. I am still of the opinion that a ...

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.
For what its worth Bracknaghboy I would also like to see us playing the more traditional formation but its hard to get away from the fact that with the way the game is now this would more than likely give an advantage to our opponents. The fact of the matter is we just do not have the footballers to...

Re: The Betting Thread
Me thinks that you have not actually looked back at all my friend. If you did, you would have seen that I have only ever given two horses as tips. The first was Oslot who won the plate at 7/2 or 3/1. The second was an each way tip on Lyceum in the hurdle who ran in to a place at 25/1. Now I never cl...

Re: The Betting Thread
Heres one for Cheltenham next week lads - Oscar Rebel. Good vibes from the stable and she is really good value at 14/1 for the mares race on day 1. Hopefully Ruby gets up on her again and would be confident of a place at least. jesus bula bula we all know bout you and your tips :D Ah well you dont ...

Re: How to treat a match like Kerry
Very strong team. Would have preferred to see a couple more lads get a try but maybe Dooley will change things around when the game is won, hopefully before the break. I would definitely agree with POTH on being glad to not being from a county like Kilkenny or Tipperary who would show no mercy whats...

Re: Connor joins Cork!
[quote="Bord na Mona man" I posted it for the headline really. What is the history between Connor and the Cork city fans btw?[/quote] During Pat Dolans time in charge, City were playing Waterford and Dan Connor was playing in goal or Waterford. Waterford scored to make it 2 apiece right at...

Re: Connor joins Cork!
Connor moves to Cork City Cork City's busy close season continues after they announced the signing of goalkeeper Dan Connor. Connor, 27, signed a two year contract with the club having spent a number of seasons with Drogheda United where he played under new City boss Paul Doolin. 'I'm delighted to ...

Re: Leinster or Munster
I’m from The Faithful living in Munster. When I lived in Dublin I’d head to Donnybrook or the RDS on a Friday night and even living down here I’ll try and make at least a couple of the home ERC games. What does wreck my head a bit is when Munster play I would normally wish them the best and hope th...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009
If Niall wasn't on the team, someone else would become the main target man and get the bulk of the scores - Pachal Kellaghan, Roy Malone etc. They mightn't score as prolifically, but Rhode wouldn't be stuck for scores. On current form, I think Rhode would still win the county title without Niall. C...

Vincent Teehan with Daly in Dublin
Does anyone know how this has come about? How are he and Anthony Daly connected, have they worked together before or is it for his hurling knowledge of Dublin? Is there someting that he could have added to our set - up? A lot of questions but it seems like this has come out of knowhere or maybe I am...
