Re: Offaly v Cork, SHC qualifier, 25/6/2011
Two changes for the Corkies. Jerry O’Connor replaces Tom Kenny at midfield and Cian McCarthy regains his place, replacing Bill Cooper. 1. Dónal Óg Cusack 2. Stephen McDonnell 3. Eoin Cadogan 4. Brian Murphy 5. John Gardiner 6. William Egan 7. Shane O'Neill 8. Jerry O'Connor 9. Pa Cronin 10. Ben O'C...

Portlaoise can be bypassed by taking the first exit off the motorway. To make it you would have to get to Dunkettle from the park in half an hour which would be very tough. Wouldnt fancy trying it myself.

Re: offaly vs galway
You forget we've been down in division four in football as well and we saw when we came out of it that we simply weren't ready. I refer you to 2-11 to 1-8 to Westmeath in O'Connor Park - possibly our worst Leinster championship result in twenty years, possibly more. We were in division four in 1997...

Re: offaly vs galway
That's good enough for me anyway. People get the 'flu. Happens. And there are far worse times for an inter-county GAA player to get the 'flu than February. Cheers for the news, CG. Not making excuses etc, etc, but Shane Dooley had a very bad flu last week. Simple as that. With the way some lads beh...

Re: Offaly vs Limerick All-Ireland SHC Qualifier Phase 2 10/7/10
Paddy Power has it priced up as Offaly 1/20 and Limerick 9/1 with the draw at 18/1. No handicap betting available yet. Never thought I would see the day when we would be at such odds against Limerick and I reckon the bookies have got it wrong on this occasion. Handicap if its available will be somet...

I wonder is that normal practice. Shocking even if it is but would expect no less.

Re: offaly v cork NHL
Same old story again but the thing that bugs me most is that Cork were there for the taking and we could just not manage it. As has been said, 11 point difference flatters Cork but this type of thing always seems to happen to us. Some lads are saying that we done well to stick with them but this is ...

Re: offaly v cork NHL
Having seen Corks team, does anybody else think that Offaly, provided they perform, actually have a chance at this? Had the defence been picked more astutely I would have had more confidence but even still I have one of those 'niggly feelings'. Or am I just suffering from a classic case of 'start o...

Re: Compulsory Hurling Helmets
I'm not sure about the mutual respect exile? Just yesturday Phil Noonan (Newtownshandrum) 100% deliberately smashed his hurl into Andy Maloney's (Ballygunner) exposed head. One of the more cowardly acts I witnessed on a pitch. Of course he only got a yellow :x If anything this helmet rule will elim...

Re: Clara vs. Portlaoise - Leinster club semi final 22/11/2009
Clara are 9/4 on Paddy Power with Portlaoise at 2/5 and the draw at 15/2.True Red wrote:what odds are clara for sunday?
Clara are 11/10 with a 2 point head start and Portlaoise at 5/6.
At those prices the 5/6 on Portlaoise to beat the 2 point handicap is for me the one to be on. Would love to be wrong though.

Re: tullamore v clonkill
Was a little bit surpised that Clonkill came through the game today but they will be a tough nut to crack for Tullamore. A lot will depend on whether Tullamore are just content with the county title or are hungry enough to push themselves on a bit more. It is definitely the easier side of the draw t...

Re: Leinster SHC 2010
The most notable one to drop out for me would be definitely Colm Coughlan. I am disappointed with this as I thought he could do a job for us and was well worth a chance based on frees alone. Brian Carroll misses too many and has done nothing when on the frees or off them. Shane Dooley doesnt convinc...

Leinster SHC 2010
Happy enough with the initial draw as we should have too much for Antrim and set up a semi-final with most likely Galway. Not too sure what way the venue is going to be organised but if we were to get a home draw then I would give us a good chance of an upset.
