Re: Hurling League Changes

I think you have it slightly wrong. According to Hoganstand the top 2 teams in 1B will play off for the right to play the winners of 1A in the semi final, while 2nd and 3rd in 1A will play in the other semi final. But regardless, there should be no reason why we still can't reach the semi, there's l...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

Clara simply weren't able to recreate the hunger and determination that they showed when beating Rhode in the semi. It's very tough to keep that intensity going for two games in a row. Once Edenderry avoided the 2 big guns in the semi's, they were going to be heading into a final in the right frame ...

Re: Minor football 2011

Taken from Hoganstand: " Birr man to manage Offaly minor footballers 22 December 2010 The Offaly minor footballers will be managed by a man from the hurling stronghold of Birr in 2011. John Ryan will succeed Ken Kelleghan in the role after being nominated by a county board sub-committee. Former...

What would you do....

...if you were in the position of the Monaghan sub goalie, when their #1 gets injured before their game against Armagh, and management decide to play regular full back between the sticks? I can't argue who is the better goalie, but i think it's bad form that the sub-goalie was kept on the panel by m...

Re: Offaly u21 v Carlow

I don't know much about Carlow and how they have progressed their minor side from 07, but Offaly have failed miserably to progress their sides from 05 and 06. In the last few years Offaly u21s were badly beaten by Carlow in 08 and Westmeath in 09, and each of those Offaly sides reached minor finals ...

Cup mix-up causes embarrassment for GAA

From hoganstand, only in the GAA would this happen "GAA chiefs were left red-faced on Sunday after a trophy mix-up saw NFL Division 3 winners Wexford presented with the O’Byrne Cup and Division 4 champions Offaly receive the Division 3 Cup. The Division 3 Cup should have been in Parnell Park fo...
