Re: Hanniffy bows out

What age would gary be? He surely has 4 or 5 good years for Birr seniors left in him. He is one of the most natural hurlers in Offaly at the moment. He will be a big loss, the first from all the players who have left the panel so far this year.

Re: U-21 Hurling Club Championship

I would expect Kilcormac, Rynaghs, St. Brendans and Clareen to go through to semis. Id say it will be a Kilcormac and Rynaghs final with Rynaghs lifting another u-21title.

Re: Referees

We could certainly use more refs in the county. I really hate when football refs ref hurling games and give frees for nothing when the player in posession just runs into his man and wins a free and no nothing about playing the hurl.

Re: Birr

I think birr should start Dwane instead of Paul O Meara. Joe Canning may be carrying a bit of extra weight but he's still as deadly in front of goal as ever, he's probably the best goalscorer in the game at the moment from placed balls and from play. Saying that i still think birr will win by 4.

Re: Referee's to strike on........

i dont agree that the refs should just boycott the shinrone/ballyskenach matchs. i think the refs are on strike not with the 2 clubs but more the county board. remember that the refs didnt go on strike after the incident but after the county board lifted the 2 year ban. Having said that, I'd say not...

The Loan System

The following is taken from hoganstand. In a system that echoes soccer loan moves, non-traditional counties are permitted to bor...

Re: Football championship

i think that this could finally be shamrocks year. there younger players should improve from last year with anoother year under their belts (e.g nigel dunne, thomas coughlan, derek molloy, karl mollen). rhode are only average without niall mac, if you put the shackles on him your half way to beating...

WHERE TO PLAY JOE BERGIN ???

I heard recently that joe bergin is going to be tried out at centre back this year in sum walsh cup and league games. I was just wondering if ye think this is a good or bad idea. Personally i think we need him more in the forwards but if he dosent play well like last year then it better for him to b...
