Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

Good lad Dathi – take a look at his twitter account to see some high-brow musings on matters from Tottenham Hotspur FC and republican politics. If hurling pundits were newspapers he’d be the Daily Star. His playing career gets him to a notch above the Sun. On his issues with the current set up – has...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

Point to be made following deletion of earlier post:

Can the moderator not just remove the issue at source and disable the poster (and any further alias he/she uses) altogether?

The name also brings a good club into disrepute.

Agree 100% re Kilmartin. He was huge in the semi final.

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

BOTN, as one of KBs critics in an earlier post, I’ll repeat my earlier commendation of his decision to give it another year especially given the retirements and loss of Horan and Eanna Murphy to the half back line options. Maybe it’s my own bee-in-me-bonnet about lads driving aimless ball from my pl...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

“If we did get something out of it, it probably would have felt like we were stealing it,” said Baker. “Dublin might have felt unjustified then because, at certain stages, we looked out of it and that’s why we have to give a bit of credit to our players that we stayed at it and kept going. “Like, Du...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

Having seen this on the box amid signal losses and a dub on M103 with john leahy it seemed to me that Dublin treated this as a lark in the park and almost paid the price for it. Fair play to Kevin Brady for making himself available to the panel for another year but i cant see how he will last league...

Re: Club Transfers

A serious matter down around our parts Biff… Durrow and Ballinamere players lining out for Tullamore is not a recent thing and at its most successful, least bitter emanation were those from both clubs who were part of the successful Tullamore teams in the SHC in the 50s. Parish rule-Nazis are welcom...

Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B

I don’t really get where managers are going with this kind of criticism of the GAA’s scheduling of league games. It’s not just Baker you hear it from. It’s like they are getting the excuses ready in advance. You have the Gooch and the likes giving the counter-argument that the inter-county season is...

Glensleafer – Great to hear insight from Antrim. If you’re Loughgiel, commiserations at the weekend, If your Dunloy, congrats … Re: Your comments on rugby – here’s a little anecdote for you … I remember being in Ballygalget Co Down a few years back and slipped into the local GAA grounds to watch the...

Discussion heard on the 18th green at the Accenture Match Pay in Arizona:- SL: Fair play to you tiger. TW: Thanks buddy. TW: Say Shane, where are from in Ayerland? SL: Clara Tiger … mighty spot… TW: I think I’ve heard about Whites Bar … isn’t that in Clara? Thats where they drink Bud, play darts and...

Re: All Ireland Club Hurling Championship 2012-2013

I see Currams and Slevin refer to the pre-match psychology around the 5-1 odds.

That kind of rubbish's my point around the importance of pre match betting stats!

Re: All Ireland Club Hurling Championship 2012-2013

Few points:- Absolutely raging I missed it but the Russell / Leahy combo is working well on for the KK games on M103. The former was sharper on Saturday, probably due to the commentators comfort with the KK panel and the latter providing the in-depth insight. Thrilled and over the moon for KK and wh...

Re: New Offaly Jersey

I’d completely agree POTH. If fact, when everyone was laughing at Alex Fergusons excuse that their grey metallic jerseys blended with the nondescript colour of the crowd in the tight old Dell in Southampton, in the 90s, I thought it was an entirely reasonable – and I being agonistic on matters Premi...

Re: 2012 Leinster Club Championships

“And I must pass Killoughey where great sportsmen are laid low” You really get the feeling that the whole county are behind KK on this one. In a way that you couldn't fully appreciate with Birr , Coolderry and Rynaghs (and that in no way qualifies the goodwill that those teams earned and enjoyed wit...
