Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Johnny Kelly will not be the fall guy either way, offaly need to play leinster hurling next year a lot more than offaly need to win another leinster u20 championship. Offaly hurling will develop and a lot more with 5 big games in leinster senior next year than it will from one more u20 game this ye...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Wasn't there a lad from castleknock playing for the u20s footballers a year or two ago? Eoin Sawyer. He didn't play a minute, mind you. It was the All Ireland winning team. Shane Horan, the Kilmacud man with Ballycumber roots put in a few good years for the seniors. John Coughlan from St Sylvesters...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Just to note that Killian Doyle cannot play for Kilkenny on Wednesday sending off or not.
The amendment to the 60 hour gap between games will only take effect in 2025. As soon as that match threw in, he was gone from Wednesday.

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
The reality is, whether people like it or not, is than we will be weaker than Galway/Kilkenny/Dublin/Wexford in a given year. By dint of demographics/playing numbers, this is just fact. Let's take a look then at the next level (Laois, Westmeath, Antrim, Carlow, Kerry and Kildare in recent times at u...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
All in all, a very creditable year for these young men and plenty of inter county experience gained.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
The team has shown how capable it is and if we go for it, I see us with comfortable wins against London and Limerick and have a proper crack at Down. This is a good team and there is a lot more to come, we'll see a couple more all Ireland u20s next year again I expect and there's definitely 3 from ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
2007 Leinster U21 semi final I think. We lost the final to Dublin, Diarmuid Connolly was playing.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Could be due to the aforementioned 2022 clash taking place in Nowlan Park?
In any case, it's great news. Should be a brilliant game and hopefully having a 20:1 supporter ratio in attendance in our favour can be worth a couple of points to the lads.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Galway would be neutral venue as I don't believe they are granted any home games at underage level.
Re Kilkenny, I'm not sure if we have a home/away agreement at the grade. If not, then I'd imagine they as #1 seeds will have home advantage.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Tricky group, we stumbled over Limerick in the end in Tullamore, and they turned it into a scrap. Getting them away leaves this a lot more difficult as they will be chomping at the bit to have another go at us down there. London, should be ok. Nothing to fear from Down? How close were they to Armag...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
they'll hardly have the appetite for this comp having been stuck in it last year too Just to focus on this, there is zero reason why Offaly shouldn't be all guns blazing for the Tailteann Cup. I struggle to see how they wouldn't have an appetite for it. We're not stuck in the competition, we are a ...
