Re: InterCounty Hurling Championship 2024

Yep, that's it exactly. Alternates each year.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Good solid performance today. Great to see the team keep the foot down when we got 7 or 8 points up. Too often in the past few years we would allow teams back into it. One thing I'm really looking forward to this week is the Laois team selection for their final game. Surely they will pick their str...

Not exactly. The winner of Laois vs Offaly will play 3rd in Munster.

So if Cork finish 3rd they'll be making a trip to Portlaoise or Tullamore.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Was a long drive back from Limerick yesterday. There’s no denying that this has been Offalys worst year possibly ever football wise at every grade. I had a little look at the club league tables when I got home last night. Tullamore and Ballycommon are the highest scorers in the Division 1 league af...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Laois confirm their place in the final. 26 point win over Down, impressive form in fairness.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Assuming Laois beat Down, this game is a defacto semi final for Kerry and Offaly. The winner would be in the final, and no combination of results could change that.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Johnny Kelly will not be the fall guy either way, offaly need to play leinster hurling next year a lot more than offaly need to win another leinster u20 championship. Offaly hurling will develop and a lot more with 5 big games in leinster senior next year than it will from one more u20 game this ye...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Wasn't there a lad from castleknock playing for the u20s footballers a year or two ago? Eoin Sawyer. He didn't play a minute, mind you. It was the All Ireland winning team. Shane Horan, the Kilmacud man with Ballycumber roots put in a few good years for the seniors. John Coughlan from St Sylvesters...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Just to note that Killian Doyle cannot play for Kilkenny on Wednesday sending off or not.

The amendment to the 60 hour gap between games will only take effect in 2025. As soon as that match threw in, he was gone from Wednesday.

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024

The reality is, whether people like it or not, is than we will be weaker than Galway/Kilkenny/Dublin/Wexford in a given year. By dint of demographics/playing numbers, this is just fact. Let's take a look then at the next level (Laois, Westmeath, Antrim, Carlow, Kerry and Kildare in recent times at u...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

The team has shown how capable it is and if we go for it, I see us with comfortable wins against London and Limerick and have a proper crack at Down. This is a good team and there is a lot more to come, we'll see a couple more all Ireland u20s next year again I expect and there's definitely 3 from ...
