Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2024

Some counties would do similar but only need to name 15. Allows everyone in early rounds to play and once they play senior, then they become ineligible for lower grade. LGFA afaik and rugby interestingly have differing rules in this area that are interesting. In some counties, if someone does not s...

They are, and the production line is running dry at the minute with underage teams having to join with Carrig and Crinkill.
Hard to know if Brady, Carroll, et al will want a crack at a year senior B.

Re: Offaly Intermediate Hurling Championship 2024

It’s mostly just harmless banter and trying to cope with the expected clipping in the Senior A, but some here in Coolderry are suggesting that beating Drumcullen in the intermediate is more important that the senior match against Kilcormac 😅😅

Re: Club Football

I think the county board .by scrapping relegation have made a rod for their own back. It's about quality not quantity and actual entertainment. Some of the games this season have been like saying the rosary for 100 times in a row. I was in the faithful Fields on Friday evening For a junior C game i...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024

Wow. Outrageous win for Coolderry today over Shinrone. Probably the best quality game I’ve seen in Offaly all year (KK aside). Nip and tuck throughout, with some fantastic scores either way. 1-3 in the last 5 minutes saw Coolderry home. Ran kk close in the group but it’s hard to see them putting up ...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2024

Caught most of the first game and was seriously impressed with Lusmagh, their heart and desire for such a small place is admirable. Themselves, Kinnitty and Clareen epitomise Offaly hurling and what we need. KK and Ballinamere may make up the majority of our county panels now but that bit of fight a...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2024

Headed over to FF tonight for Birr and Clara in the relegation final. Birr down a good few through injuries and Clara without Ciaran and Colm Doyle who have returned to Dubai following their teaching summer holidays at home. Clara got an early lead and went up 8-3. Birr bit back with a belter of a p...

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2024

You’d hope for the sake of hurling in West Offaly and for Donal Shirley, that Brosna Gaels can win this out.

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2024

Have kk brought up any of their senior Bs up to play senior A? Alex Kavanagh came on today for KK for last few mins after scoring 3 points for Senior B's yesterday. Not sure what rationale would be behind this ? Obviously meaning he can't play in the Senior B now. The A's were through already and t...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024

Can people STOP undermining the Minor hurling manager before he takes up the role. Best wishes to Brian. And best wishes to the players, about to embark on an exciting journey of development, both as hurling players and as young adults. To be honest, it just sounds like one man here trying to under...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2024

All 3 games went as expected on Saturday, with Kilcormac overcoming Carrig, Clodiagh Gaels beating Clara and Lusmagh beating Birr. That leaves it all to play for going into the final round. Kilcormac are assured of top spot. Carrig are through but could come anywhere from 2nd to 4th. The remaining 2...

Quarter Finals Erin Rovers vs Raheen Raheen by 2, new mgt with Tony dalton may salvage what has been a disastrous season Ballinagar vs Kilcormac/Killoughey...Hard to call, 2 mths ago youd have said Ballinagar, but have been poor, a kick still though, and Ballinagar just by 2 Tullamore (2nd team) vs...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024

Brian carroll good appointment on the face of it. Enda mulhare did a really good job over the last 2 years it must be said. Can you back that up with evidence that doesn't reference his playing career? Went back to back as coach of Lorrha, winning Tipp intermediate and premier intermediate in 2022 ...
