Re: New motion to protect boundaries
Has the catchment area of all clubs been settled by the County Board ? If they have are there maps and or lists of townlands held by the County Board ? I know of at least one townland where players from it have played for different clubs albeit with a generally accepted point on the road dividing t...

Re: New motion to protect boundaries
Has anyone any thoughts or comments on the motion to protect club boundaries which was passed at the County Convention during the week ? Sorry but what was the motion? https://www.offalyexpress.ie/news/home/705633/tullamore-gaa-concerned-at-losing-players-as-cappincur-motion-protecting-borders-of-s...

Re: New motion to protect boundaries
CRC gaels at juvenile is working fairly well. The most natural and urgent next step is to to do the same at adult. Crinkle recognise this urgency, do carrig? From what I hear talks about an amalgamation at adult level are at an advanced stage but not sure how true that is. It’s the most logical thi...

Re: New motion to protect boundaries
I agree. Too many small clubs in the county and no doubt around the country losing players and it will only lead to clubs struggling to put out teams and ultimately folding or having to amalgamate. I understand this is a big issue for Crinkill , with young players going to Birr instead of playing wi...

Re: Club Managers 22
Yea I did hear some players not happy with the way they played and abandoned that style of play against Rynaghs and they got a big win. But hard to know how much truth in that

Re: Club Managers 22
You’d wonder how Birr are managing to pay Buglar and his assistants if the word on the street on how much it’s costing them is true. Also is it worth it considering they didn’t get out of the group this year ?

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022
I can see Offaly taking some heavy beatings in the league this year , but in the long run I think it will stand to us in the Championship. It certainly did for Westmeath this year. Hopefully we see a few new faces on the panel too. Also can someone tell me why is Oisin Kelly not hurling ?

Re: Club Hurling championship
Gaels won. Tullamore dramatically bet. Just goes to show how an amalgamation can work if everyone buys into it. Killurin were a poor intermediate team And Killeigh a Junior A team when they joined. Next year they will hurl Senior A and that’s taken only 7 years (correct me if I’m wrong). It’s alway...

Re: Club Hurling championship
I know rules are rules set out at the beginning of the year and when walkovers happen there has to be a play off but Kil/Kil were very lucky to be still involved in the Junior A hurling. These 4 teams finished on 6 points. Tullamore +19 played all games Shamrocks +13 played all games Kil/Kil +7 pla...

Re: Club Hurling championship
Carrig & Riverstown beating Birr by 1 point in Junior B final this morning in Kinnitty. Birr threw away a 7 point lead. They had a strong team on paper with some ex senior players on show. Fair play to Carrig & Riverstown for the comeback. Final score Carrig & Riverstown 3-12 Birr 1-17

Re: Club Hurling championship
Coolderry deserved the win - but just about. Shinrone acquitted themseves very well after the third goal went in early in second half to go about 9 clear. In fact Shinrone will feel that the 2 goals either side of half time were both preventable and these had huge impact on game. There was very lit...

Re: Club Hurling championship
Can anyone explain to me what is the whole point in playing cris cross in championship groups ? It was used in the junior hurling championship this year and because 4 teams finished on the same points there is now a playoff group to decide who progresses, which will drag on for a few weeks. This is...
