Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
Anonymous quick Tommy Byrne has taken your phone. The minor hurlers who lost to tipp contested an u14 Tony forrestial final with 90% of the team who started that day in Nowlan Park. If you think that's anything got to do with structures at the time in offaly your high it was just a talented group o...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
One could reasonably argue that the good underage groups we’ve had (U20 footballers in 2021, minor hurlers in 2022 and U20 hurlers in 2023) were almost exclusively the work of Tommy Byrne’s structures despite Duignan taking all the credit. The first evidence we have of teams coming through under hi...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
I made my thoughts known on the management after last years drubbing against Dublin and was shot down but best of luck to anybody defending that performance tonight.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
We’re favourites based on what? Certainly not the odds anyway… Sure that's just the bookies odds, I've outlined why I believe we're favourites.. not that you read the reasons, you just want to argue.. you can be sure them odds will change. We're both the same price to win the Leinster championship....

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Realistically we’ll be in the same scenario next year. We rarely seem to get anything handy off laois, and given the time of year the game will be played, their physicality will probably be too much for us. Its hard to describe it as anything other than threading water at the minute. I agree. Laois...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Honestly, going into the weekend, I still reckoned they had a promotion chance. They fecked up a good position against Clare to lose by a point (where have we heard that story before  ) and then went on to win the games I expected them to win with something to spare. That left them going to N...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Dunne legs may be gone I'm not so sure but your reference of the westmeath game is a poor argument as he was our best forward that day and that's why everyone was bewildered he got subbed anyway that's neither here nor there at this stage.. I would prefer him coming on so I'd agree with you there W...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
He's been one year with the senior team so hasn't played there for the seniors, has played there underage and has played there for his club!! A lot of players play in one position for their club out of necessity and another for their county. He was used as an inside forward for the All Ireland winn...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
We weren't drawing with Galway a decade ago, were were hammered by Kilkenny and Galway and Westmeath and Laois a decade ago 👍 Can’t defend the indefensible now so you’re trying to deflect but you’re wrong. We did draw with Galway in the 2010 Leinster Semi final and pushed them close on many other o...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
O Neill has played plenty of ball at centre forward and been very good in that position actually. His injection of pace and drive for the goal that he has is ideal for centre forward. When has he been used there for Offaly? He's been one year with the senior team so hasn't played there for the seni...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
You are just an ass to be honest! Beaten by last puck of ball by Clare, 7 points up on Kilkenny at one stage and were competitive against them and Waterford and drew with Wexford.. having been beaten in a Christy ring cup semi final couple years ago and you're telling me we've not made progress, yo...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Offaly will mote than likely easily account for Limerick next weekend The graph is rising with the group of players declan Kelly has I'd like to see cathal flynn or Keith o Neill at 11 the next day Offaly by 6 O’Neill is an inside forward, he’s not a centre forward. O Neill has played plenty of bal...
