Re: Management committee

Tullamore can like or lump it in my opinion. Am I correct in saying there is still levy on every club in Offaly for OCP? So all the other clubs around the county raise finances which effectively go into the arse pocket of Tullamore GAA. And then they want the clubs to have sympathy for them because ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

None of us saw that coming.

Impressive stuff. With no promotion final and games vs Carlow, Down, Wicklow left, we’re in a good spot. Game against Carlow seems crucial now.

Well done to all involved.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Clare when running properly would beat offaly comfortable enough. There's no doubt that Clare are misfiring spectacularly at the moment. You could make a case for saying that Tony Kelly is the best hurler in Ireland, and they have plenty of talent around him. Look at the teams from the Munster U-21...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Very concerned about our goalkeeping situation to be honest.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Huge improvement in both the stream and our performance in the 2nd quarter including a fantastically worked goal finished by Adrian Haynes. Unfortunately we have lost both our corner backs to injury, Damo Egan replacing Joey Keenagahn and Paddy Rigney replacing Paddy Delaney. Meath have a strong win...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

First water break and I don’t know which is worse, the stream or our performance. Meath playing all the decent hurling and leading 0-06 to 1-02. Offaly have 8 wides to Meath’s none.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Conditions today are conducive to the ball doing a good bit of the work. If we play today with the system we did in last year’s CR semi then Michael Fennelly has learned nothing. Assess your players and create a gameplan suitable to them. Don’t come in and inflict a gameplan that is alien to them an...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

33% of that team were hurling in a glorified intermediate club championship in 2020.

53% of that team didn’t win a senior club championship game in 2020.

Makes you think that the best hurlers in the county are not on that panel due to their own choice or through management selections.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021

Conor Clancy back in a good move I think..interesting to see if he makes the 1st 15.... Disagree. Doesnt have the temperament for IC goalkeeper. Liable to do absolutely crazy things in the goals The 2 best keepers in the county are still James Dempsey and Breeder Mullins so Offaly’s number 1 will b...

Re: 2020 Co Finals

As soon as the hurlers are finished (latest date this would be is last weekend of July) then you have to think the 2020 finals will be 2 weekends after this. Maybe even the following weekend. Then get 2021 championships up and running as quickly as possible because a winter lockdown of some sorts co...

Re: Defunct clubs

Yes, there is some bye-law around using alterations to club names in the case of amalgamations. So it was indeed St Rynagh's Óg who won that U21 in 2012. Kilcormac-Killoughey Gaels (K-K and Drumcullen) reached 2008's U21 hurling final which they lost to Seir Kieran. And Seir Kieran Óg reached the U...

Re: Club Managements

Well they got a full back page spread about their "arrival" from Kevin Corrigan this year. Did they beat Kilcormac / Killoughey or St Rynagh's to merit this? Or even Birr or Coolderry? No, they drew with Shinrone. And went on to finish bottom of their group and probably would have got relegated if t...
