Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Just saw the revised Master Fixture List for the rest of the year. The Senior Hurling Final will be held on Sunday October 23rd. Just what all the hurlers who passed May, June and most of July without hurling want. To be hurling the county final in the muck and shite. Someday the county board and th...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
I dont know if I necessarily agree that Shinrone arent a threat to anyone. They are into the league final and a win there would give them great belief that the Rynaghs result was just a bad day at the office. Rynaghs look like a team on the move and with a good amount of players to come back into it...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Round 3 SHC fixtures are on the Offaly GAA website. Again no fixtures for St Brendan's Park but 3 for O'Connor Park and 2 for Banagher. The fixtures secretary should be ashamed that after 3 rounds of SHC (18 games) there still wont have been one game played in Birr. Im not from the Birr club but I f...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Thanks for posting that, Frank. I agree with you on the two points you raised. The All-Ireland Final is indeed on Sunday 4th (I've just checked), although the master list is made with the All-Ireland being on the following Sunday, the 11th. SHC Round 3: weekend July 29th - August 1st SHC Round 4: w...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
If the clubs were happy to allow this year's championship to go ahead in its current format knowing that there would more than likely only one round to be played before the break for intercounty activity, surely next year they will be happy to allow the same format as two rounds can be played pre in...

Re: Offaly v Dublin Leinster under21 final, Weds 6th July
If you took Emmet Nolan out of that team tonight we could have got a right hammering. He was involved in nearly all our scores even though he only got 0-02 from play himself. Paddy Delaney was also quite good but the more balanced team won and could have won by more only for some wayward shooting an...

Semi Final fixed for Portloaise Sunday week at 3:30.
We have a poor recent record there having lost our last 6 championship matches there with the last win In 2008. Hopefully we'll get a performance from the lads. Nothing to fear from Galway to be fair.

Very Strange club representation on the Offaly Senior Team Brosna Gaels have a member on the team, Kinnitty have 3 members on the team, Seir Kieran have 3 members on the team. The strongest club in Offaly Kilcormac/Killoughey have just 2 subs. Very hard have Kicormac lads on the team when they won'...

Re: U21 Hurling Championship.
I think there's a general misconception about the so called conveyor belt of talent that exists in Kilkenny. In the last 13 years Klkenny have won 3 All Ireland minor titles and two All Ireland under 21 crowns. Considering the amount of senior All Irelands they have won in the same period this is no...

Re: Offaly v Carlow, Leinster round robin Saturday 7th May
He is experienced enough to play there at least..you pick someone different out of the 26 you put up Agreed. Colin Egan is the best option to play centre back at the moment. It's easy for guys to say this lad and that lad aren't good enough to play in a certain position, but when you ask them who t...

Re: Offaly v Carlow, Leinster round robin Saturday 7th May
Rumour has it that two of the starting team named for Saturday have dropped themselves off the panel along with another player who was a sub last week. If that is the case it says a lot about those players. To step away when their county needs them the most. How substantiated that rumour is I can't ...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May
I seen a TV interview with Padraig Horan over 14 years ago stating Offaly hurling was on a downward spiral..that was after Winn 2 under age Leinster titles in recent times back then..he got slated for his statement..he was spot on Jaysus, aren't Horan and Daithi Regan great lads to forsee all this?...

Id prefer a 4 week gap rather than a 13 week gap.
