Re: Offaly SHC
Just on scheduling of matches over the coming weeks. The Senior hurling championship requires three more weekends to complete (barring replays), whereas the Senior A football championship will require five weekends to complete. Also, the Senior A football champions are scheduled to play in Leinster...

Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis
What would the negatives of actually having separate hurling and football boards be?

Re: Offaly SHC
Agreed on the the St Rynagh's point and fair play to them.
Horribly disillusioned on the other one however.

Re: Offaly SHC
I actually wasn't aware of that. I was just going by last year's Quarter-Final vs Belmont. I wonder what St Rynagh's would make of playing Birr in SBP?? Kilcormac / Killoughey vs Shinrone Kinnitty vs Belmont Coolderry vs Seir Kieran Birr vs St Rynagh's Talk about four games where SBP is the perfect ...

Re: Offaly SHC
Birr delegates walk out of CB with frustration over not sitting down with them over fixtures. Then the CB proceed to fix Birr V K/K in OCP on a Saturday evening at 7 O Clock a game which really means noting...shameful. If results go as expected you are right, this is nothing more than a glorified c...

Re: Offaly SHC
I should point out, where two teams are tied, scoring difference is used to separate them. I presume you meant to say scoring difference is not used to separate them?? What are your early thoughts on those pairings? There is no game there that I could say with full conviction that a certain team wo...

Re: Offaly SHC
Thankfully only 1 more round in the group stage to go and onto the business end then. Probable Quarter Final pairings: Kilcormac / Killoughey vs Shinrone Kinnitty vs Belmont Coolderry vs Seir Kieran Birr vs St Rynaghs As far as I know the winners of Kilcormac / Killoughey vs Shinrone and the winners...

Re: Offaly SHC
Birr were missing Paul Cleary, Eoghan Cahill, Rory Hanniffy and Brian Watkins. Cahill was a huge loss particularly with the frees as Birr tried Colm Mulrooney, Aaron Whelahan and Thomas Bolger on them and all were poor enough at them. Good second half and Coolderry did well to win as it seemed all t...

Re: Offaly SHC
ive said it before on previous posts i feel we should run our football and hurling championships like the laois senior hurling championship Which is?? Personally I'm a fan of the Clare structure. It has a meaning to every game and there is a back door if you lose up to county semi-finals. Lose you'...

Re: Offaly SHC
I wasn't a fan of the revamp of the Offaly SHC for 2018 onwards when in it was first mooted but analysing this weekend's results it seems clear that change is in fact needed. Over the course of the six games there were two competitive games. The first between Belmont and Shinrone, saw Belmont being...

Re: Offaly SHC
What is unusual is the vast majority of people who go to those games don't want them there.
And that 3 of the 4 clubs who reached the county semi-finals last year didn't want to play them there either and officially requested they be moved.
