Re: Fixture Clash this Saturday
Tis the stuff of science-fiction,how to transport Offaly fans whilst ignoring the parameters of spatio-temporal reality?

Re: U/21 V Kilkenny goes ahead
The county board are notoriously flaky,so I wouldn't hold my breath on getting any fixture rearranged.
But,they have to stand their ground, present a sound argument and hope for the best.

Re: Fixture Clash this Saturday
Television dictates the hurling times. The only hope is to get Down to agree to a change for the football, which is unlikely. Indeed. TV rules the roost where the GAA are concerned.Money pumped in from the likes of RTV,3TV and Sellotanta means that coverage of games will take precedence over the ar...

Re: Fixture Clash this Saturday
Absolutely no consideration whatsoever! An outrage I tells ya...why could they not have simply had either the hurling or football earlier? Oh well, looks like loyalties will be divided this weekend - it will be fairly apparent that those fine Denizens of South Offaly will make up the bulk of the crow...

Re: Fixture Clash this Saturday
Surely common sense will prevail in this instance.
It is in the interests of the GAA to enable the people of Offaly to view both games if they so wish.
If a fixture clash does result I for one know what game I'd be watching...

Re: Offaly's best days - Ones when the supporters didn't show up
Absolutely gutted that I missed such an epic occasion, but Poxygen was the order of the weekend for me. When I watched the match subsequently I noticed that Tomas Mucahy stated that it was 'an awful shame that there are so few Offaly people here,as its the best they've played in a long time' - commen...

Re: Damning Sunday Tribune Article
I thought this was an unusual read in a Sunday broadsheet. Is Ewan McKenna "one of us"? This article felt a bit like a "washing dirty linen in public" rant. I'm not saying I disagree with any of his basic sentiments, but I cant recall many similar articles recently about other c...

Re: Allez les Faithful!!
The last time I saw the Allez Les Faithful crew they were on the terrace up in Casement Park unfurling their flag amidst a driving gale and downpour. This of us huddled in the stand admired their dedication. Twas a less tham memorable performance that Saturday night in Andy'Town, but the inclement w...

Re: Big Game Prediction
No matter what one predicts it usually turns out quite skewed, especially when one's own county is involved. The heart can rule over the head and all that type o' jazz. But,for what its worth I can see Offaly taking it by a snaky point or two. The scum are a team who put everything into defending and...

Re: New Jersey
As mentioned check out the Michael Davitts GAC jersey. There's a daycent amount of Green on sleeves and shawlders. All this new jersey lark is farcical, cos its the manufacturer who designs them and unfortunately we've little or no say in the matter. But,I am of the opinion that a less stylistic and ...

Re: Offaly - Westmeath rivalry topic
Kudos. A stirrin' article if ever I read one. It does state a number of unique traits which BIFFOs possess. Rivalries with despised neighbours always brings the inner passions out,and this Saturday evening in Tellamore I expect a heated and incident-ridden encounter. The Uibh Fhaili.co manifesto nee...

Re: OFFALY V WATERFORD.
I realise that its no harm to tread carefully in such an encounter, but for jaysus sake lads its a game that you'd be expecting to win very handily,no matter what the circumstances. Granted,we dont have any God-given right to beat them, but we certainly do have a Fhaile-given right. The Deise aren't e...

Re: OFFALY V WATERFORD.
I was reminded today of a Sunday afternoon 2 years ago when Waterford went to Breffni Park and caused a sensation by beating Cavan by 2 points and killing their promotion hopes and last year they shocked Wexford also in the League. If the unthinkable was to happen on Sunday I swear to god I will ea...

Re: Offaly v Antrim
On the balance of play,a draw was just about right. Antrim seemed to get their scores a little handier than Offaly's laboured efforts. I'm somwehat of the opinion that it isn't a bad result, ideally a win was desired, but I reckon that it's ours to throw away now. T'won't be handy down in Aughrim, but ...
