They're called the Kinnitty Mountains round here.

Laois 6/5.

Handicap is Laois +1

Bookies say there’s nothing between them.
Offaly opened up marginal outsiders in Boylesports, while Paddy Power went straight down the middle at evens, so there’s clearly been money coming for Offaly.
Very hard one to call.
Would be such a sweet win to get in Portlaoise.

I’ll nail my colours here - expect Offaly to win. And by a relatively comfortable margin.

agree with doon exile if offaly have improved we should be beating laois who in my opinion haven't improved atal since they beat us in the joe mcdonagh under mick Fenelley if anything they've regressed

They'll be out for blood but offaly shouldn't get dragged into that kinda nonsense they may be big but run them around the field and that should solve that

Will Adam screeney get the nod to start?

Going to be a battle, and rightly so Laois will take any motivation from what we did last year.
Newsflash lads, paranoia is rampant in the GAA.

We need to show a couple of things to move on from the league, 1) Play with our heads, ie work the ball and use the runners, 2) Track Laois in that regard, re runners etc, and 3) Intensity and desire to win the dirty ball.

All 3 are basics but the difference between moving towards the top tier if we wish to is that you do the basics faster and well more regularly.

Best of luck to the team, panel and management. This is a critical match as Westmeath up next will be no easy task.

I like that team. Great to have Ciarán Burke and Cillian Kiely back. A few finishers on the bench too. Looking forward to it now. It's championship!

A lot to like about that team.

They must play each ball though and be ready for the 'revenge' motivation Laois will have.plenty of depth there to really push on in the last 10.

Big crowd needed down to push the lads down the home stretch in the last few minutes in what is a pivotal match for our season.

Really looking forward to tomorrow.

Beautiful weather, feels like Summer for the weekend after our 10 month long Winter.
Many making the trip?

Up Offaly!

The extra bit of experience the laois lads had playing at the higher level paid dividends. Seemed to be some on here thinking that one semi decent showing in this league would be enough to make up for the lower level we’ve operated at for the past 5-6 years. Onwards and upwards.

Kerry bet westmeath so I'd fancy a offaly vs laois final. Obviously offaly vs westmeath takes on even bigger meaning.

joey1001 wrote: Wed Apr 17, 2024 6:31 pm Lads Laois and Westmeath put up little or no resistance in the league last year and the top level and managed a result and were very competitive. Lads are talking about second teams, it was no different when these teams met Laois and Westmeath last year.. if you think we can't beat Laois because we couldn't close out a game against the league champions when they brought on their big guns (ya don't win a league without a panel). From what we've seen this year and last, Offaly are above both Laois and Westmeath and barring a bad off day they'll win against both and win it out. I thought the negativity and poor reading of the footballers form was bad but this is nearly worse.
Well Joey
