Very little thought gone into this but:

Birr to beat St Rynaghs

Kilcormac / Killoughey to beat Tullamore (strangest location choice for an Offaly SHC game in my lifetime by the way)

Ballinamere to beat Seir Kieran

Shinrone and Belmont to draw

Getting into the interesting stuff. Last chance saloon regarding qualification for the knockouts regarding Tullamore and Seir Kieran.

Tubber for KK v Tullamore is a strange venue for this game.

Rynaghs get over the line to beat Birr by 4 with a goal last puck of the game.

Birr had a free to go 1 up heading into injury times but it was missed.

A game that could of went either way.

I thought the ref was very inconsistent with over traveling rules and the one at the end to put Rynaghs one up was a big call.

Overall hurling was poorish not sure how far either team will go but they will need to improve alot to win Sean Robbins.

Birr let it's slip last night to be hones!t a poor game quality for both teams questionable.
Friday night hurling is definitely a damp squib but the powers that be seem to want it ?
Must be wedding season lol
Stay dry 👍

I’m fairly sure it’s a damp squib because of the torrential rain we’ve had for the last few months, along with last night’s weather warning 😂😂

Rynaghs 2-19 Birr 0-21

Big win for Rynaghs, a lot of people, myself included had fancied Birr for this.

Eoghan Cahill a massive loss, anyone know when he is back?

Eoin Woods with 1-3 from play for Rynaghs, looks all of the prodigious talent that he was as a minor again.

Ballinamere had a good win against clareen, guaranteed a quarter final slot more or less minimum now, all tough matches from now with Belmont and shinrone ahead.

Niall Rigney is some man for giving out, will be hoarse I would say but provides good entertainment. He will have ballinamere on shooting practice after hitting so many wides. They were much the better team over the hour but overplayed at times and gave away some silly frees which were all punished. It took a while for ballinamere to push on but won at ease near the end.

Faithful fields is a fine pitch, wouldn’t think there was much rain at all looking at it.

Strange game Shinrone look so ordinary but still keep getting these results. Fair dues.

Belmont looked lively but do have some weak spots on the team too.

Overall It wasn't a bad game.

Niall Rigney will drive those Ballinamere players bananas before the year is out.

If a player hits a wide he doesn’t need his manager bawling him out of it to “move your feet”. Players aren’t stupid. Nothing worse than a manager roaring in highlighting your mistake.

Ballinamere full value for their win, should have won by probably 20. Wouldn’t think they’ll go all the way but may get a big big scalp along the line.

Clareen are in real trouble now. While they hurled reasonably well in their first 2 games they looked to me to be a team that threw in the towel this evening long before the game was over. On this evidence it’s hard to see them beating Coolderry to avoid the relegation playoff.

As an aside and I can’t be sure on this but a Clareen man told me this evening that Clareen haven’t won a SHC group game since in 5 years? He said since 2018.

Which would mean
2019 - Played Senior B
2020 - lost every group game. No relegaton as two teams came up to make 10 teams SHC
2021- Lost every group game. Beat Drumcullen in relegation final
2022 - Lost every group game. Beat Clodiagh Gaels in relegation final
2023- Lost all games so far.

Maybe POTH can confirm? Thats a tough mental challenge to overcome for their players if true.
