interesting to see the astro turf playing a part in one of the kk goals after all of the debate here last week.

shinrone never got going at all.

Fair play to birr ,they did a superb job of hosting the final. mundy with the build up and the piped band as well for the parade.

No delays on entry either from what I could see .
plenty of stewards.

Fair play as well to duignan and the county board for keeping to their word and bringing the final.

A bit of a mess up with the 1998 team being presented when the MC forgot one or two members of the panel . poor form.

but overall well done birr!

Everything bar the game was good today. Just under 7k in attendance. Would have made for a good atmosphere except the match was so one sided. Shinrone never got going.

Well done kk the start of something big.

Well done to Birr on today’s arrangements. All well done, even had online payment option for programmes and refreshments. The game sadly was over as a contest by half time.

Off to Wexford it is. I think KK will give Leinster Club championship a good rattle.

Mundy’s performance lasted longer the match itself.

KK started off like a team who had lost their last three county finals. Shinrone started off like the team who went 6 points down to Birr in O Conor Park. Man on man in their back line and they could easily have been 10 points down after 10 mins. They brought a sweeper when they were 15 points down.

They persisted with the tippy tappy stuff around their own half back line when KK’s intensity was scuppering them time and time again.

Congrats to the KK legends with 5 county medals. Slevin, Kilmartin, Mahon and Gorman were all immense.

Fair play to Birr GAA on a great hosting of the day. They pulled out all the stops. You wouldn’t like to be on the losing side of a team due to a poxy goal hopping off that astro turf all the same!!

Kk champions after that. Should account for the wexford champions, they haven't played in over 3 months. Kk champions will be a different storey.

Ah boys come off it the astro turf it isn't your average astro turf it's like normal grass.
Slevin jumped over the ball bad goalkeeping more so than a hop off the ground.

Look it back will tell ya the same. Of course you would prefer grass but its a club ground with one pitch not possible.

it's not even proper astro turf.

It's some sort of plastic coating.

Rynaghs version of it is worse again .

The same thing happened with the goal shinrone scored as well . someone pinged it off the green concrete and it flew into the kk net.

I don't know how it is legal. the bounce of the ball off it is completely different .

Kilcormac Killoughey 2 - 20

Shinrone 2-18
If there is anything close to 50 scored on Sunday I’d be shocked

Kilcormac 1-16
Shinrone 0-15
52 points scored 😳 serious performance by KK. Expect them to do well in leinster

Congratulations to KK, fantastic performance, regardless of Shinrones display.

Well done to Birr GAA. Well hosted and with Mundy playing it helped to spread the crowa entry out over a longer time.
Of course the weather being perfect meant that the brollies wernt unveiled to block the view.

I travelled over due to the novelty/nostalgia of going back to Birr for a big game. Many others did too. The debate will start around what should happen next year, but if that is a sign of the dominance that is coming for the next 5/10 years then you could play it in Rath.
Massive crowd and not a murmur during the game. KK hopefully will now push on to another level, and its time for other clubs to kick on as well. KKs touch, power and team play was on another level to anything that has been produced over last 20 years. Yes , Shinrone played well last year but could have been blown out of it in the first 10 mins.
They were blown away in 10 mins yesterday.

Look forward to seeing KK give Leinster a rattle.
