Re: Newspaper Articles and other media bits
I was 13 sitting with the aul lad in the hogan stand absolutely soaked and if I remember correctly there was thunder and lightening that day. The Kilkenny team were soaked on the pitch before the game with Offaly waiting for it to stop. To this day it was by far the best game I ever attended in terms of a team playing at their brilliant best, that should have ended with two in a row that year. We really were spoiled for choice that time, even the footballers snook in with Leinster in ‘97, if we won a Leinster now we could get the robots to cover work for a few weeks!!biffinbanner wrote:sad but very good article.we have really gone full circle.i remember that 95 leinster final like it was yesterday. it was pure hurling, cyril farell that night said on the sunday game that offaly were the best team he ever seen, strange to say we ended up with nothing after. the rain was unreal heavy.i went into the toilet at half time but they were flooded..we had to make alternative arrangements !!

I’m fairly sure that I pointed this out on here when it was announced.
The writer also fails to note that the intermediate championship is largely similar, a bastardised version, with 9 teams, as opposed to 8 in senior A and B.
BracknaghBoy also called it

If this chap was to gain a bit of self confidence he could end up a decent footballer
