Re: Leinster MHC 2016
Match is at 2pm O'Connor park tomorrow.
Went to Rath the week before last to watch them.
The weather was rubbish so hard to judge.
Best of luck to the management and team.

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
From what I am hearing they are a good group of lads and are not short of hurling ability. I think they are the best minor hurling team Offaly have had in the past few years but tomorrow will tell a lot. Sappy ground and a wet ball will not suit the majority of them but they have to play what is put in front of them.

Good luck to the Minors!!!

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
a good win.
6 points down at half time and turned it around.
It took time for the Offaly lads to get to the pace of the game and when they match up to the laois they were a bit better than laois.
Offaly lads got nervous in the last few mins and just need to do the simple thing.
Loads to work to do but still the hard work and physical commitment was very good.

Well done to the Offaly Minors. Great to get a win over Laois who have been having a better time of it than ourselves at underage for the last number of years it seems. Who do they play next? and any idea when or where the fixture might be played?
Also does anyone have the team lineup? with clubs of the players. Subs listing aswell would be great.

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
Woods turns tables on Laois to set up Cats clash
Offaly 1-15 Laois 1-12
Laois had beaten Offaly in their last four meetings in the minor championship but a goal from substitute David Nally powered the home side on to overcome a six-point half deficit to win by three.
Laois led 1-8 to 0-5 at half-time, thanks in part to Mark Dowling's opportunist goal - he pounced on a breaking ball to smash to the bottom corner from close range
But they hit some poor wides at the start of the second half as Offaly edged back into the game, with Eoin Woods in fine form from dead balls.
The defining score arrived 11 minutes from time. The O'Moore youngsters had led for the entire game but Nally let fly on the ground to find the net and give Offaly the lead for the first time.
The Faithful kicked on and late points from Eoin Woods and Conor Langton sealed their victory.
Scorers - Offaly: E Woods 0-9 (8fs), C Langton 0-3, D Nally 1-0, M Ryan, E Kelly, D Buckley 0-1 each. Laois: A Bergin 0-6 (3fs, 2 '65s'), A Dunphy 0-4, M Dowling 1-0, L McDonald, S Dunphy 0-1 each.
OFFALY - W Malone; C Curran, D Watkins, F Hanamy; S Leonard, B Kealey, M Ryan; A Maher, D Buckley; C Langton, E Callaghan, K Guinan; E Kelly, E Woods, J Keenaghan. Subs: P Walsh for Curran (HT), D Nally for Buckley (44), M Cleary for Buckley (59).
LAOIS - O Bennett; J Geaney, E Killeen, B Quinlan; D Connolly, J Cranny, L Cleere; L McDonald, L Delaney; S Dunphy, A Dunphy, C Comerford; M Dowling, J Walsh, A Bergin. Subs: J Keyes for Bergin (54), B Corby for Delaney (57).

Well done on Saturday's result. Offaly were6 points down at half time, and won by 3. I think Laois won the previous 4 encounters, so no 5 in a row!kingscounty wrote:Positive news for Offaly hurling , well done lads keep it going , keep her lit
Kilkenny are up next, what other teams are in Offaly's group?

Straight knockout but with a back door if you're beaten in the first or second round.
