Division 3 Group 1 is up on the website..........but no dates for fixtures

Half arsed as usual.. Mid March is when the div 3 starts according to whoever runs the Offaly GAA Facebook page. There is not even a contact email address on the website so there is no other way to get anyone as far as I know.

There are two weekends in March set aside for Divisions 1 & 2 in the Master Fixture list if I'm reading this correctly. They being the weekend of March 9/10 and the weekend of March 30/31. I'd guess that they would run off Divisions 3 & 4 on those same weekends, probably. By that logic, the 'mid-March' kick-off would most likely be the weekend of March 9th & 10th.

On another note, can anyone from or close to the Rhode club suggest any reason why they'll be competing in Division 3 of the Football League, rather than Division 2? I've already forgotten last years league, but i'd be very surprised to hear that they were actually relegated. For an Intermediate team (a very strong intermediate team at that) to be competing in Division 3 seems a little unfair, especially on some of those teams that might be looking at Division 3 as a chance for some silverware. Rhode will basically have everyone with the exception of their first named 15 available for this division and should win it at a canter, based on previous years. They're in a divison lower than Clonmore Harps now, and in the same division as Daingeans 2nd 15, that hardly makes much sense. Maybe I've missed something here, apologies for the rant if I have. But I'd just like someone to explain it to me.

Ballycumber Seconds finished bottom of Division 2 last year so they were replaced by Clonmore Harps who won Division 3. Cappincur received an invite to participate in Division 2. The only possible reason fro this is that Rhode chose to only enter 2 teams this year as opposed to 3 last year in the League. I cannot understand the reasoning for this as their second team performed well throughout last year and their thrid team held its own in Division 3 with the mid table teams.

All the divisions are now online, 1,2 3(Group 1 and 2) and 4, fixtures should be as stated above

reason for rhode not entering divison 2 league is up to last tuesday night ,they had 10/11 training with county senior and u21...if they u21 had gone on longer all these lads were missing most of the league games..what they saw happening was their inter team playing div 1 , junior team playing div 2 and not enough numbers to enter div 3...i think this is fairly straight forward.
