Can anyone name the team that started last night? Did Brian Connor and Alan Mc Namee play? Sounds encouraging . Maybe there is still hope. Were Laois strong or did they play a weakened team?

team was A Mulhall/ J Gallagher/ S O Sullivan/ K Lynam/ P Mc Conway/ J Moloney/ B Darby/ B Connor/N Smith/ J keane/ D Currams/ N Dunne/ A Keenaghan/ W Mulhall/K casey. Apart from both teams missing u 21 players to me it looked like Laois were only missing PClancy. Paul Mc Conway went off injured after only 5 mins Lorcan Hiney replaced him and Alan Mc Namee came on later.
Good all round display all supporting each other Ken got the goal and Nigel kicked about 8 points from frees and play. Was very encouraging after the dissapointing performances so far. Hate to think it was a one off but shows what they are capabale of. so as my name suggests i still see a future. Lets hope the u21s do the business on Wednesday night.

Alan Mulhall back in goal - interesting , is Kevin Meehan injured? No Sean Pender either. Sounds encouraging though unless Laois were not that interested or trained earlier . Nigel Dunne and John Malone seem to be stepping up and Brian Connors return is crucial.

I don't think Healy, Begley, Cahillane or Davy Conway played either from the Laois team that won in Donegal. Good win for Offaly nonetheless.

Any challenge match result has to be taken with a hefty pinch of salt, but still this is encouraging. It's going to be a very tough battle to avoid relegation now, starting in Belfast this Saturday night, but at least if the lads have a bit of confidence from a win over division 1 opposition, not to mention the previous win over Wicklow, there is some basis for hope. It was always likely to be a tough learning curve and the value of just one meaningful win would be huge.

Meehan has a hamstring problem. Nothing serious but he won't face Antrim.
